Decided to try the new Bedford shop instead of Hitchin whilst visiting family and we were not disappointed. Even though they were extremely busy we didn't have to wait to long for a table, the staff were brilliant and working so hard I couldn't not leave a tip. Food was amazing as always and we got to watch the football too! Thank you chicken George We will drive 3 hours again to visit you
Chicken George? More like chicken gawj! Travelled up here on a Wednesday afternoon with some good friends after seeing the hype on tik tok - I cannot recommend this place enough! We went for the family sharer, admittedly the meal did defeat us but what a beautiful spread! All the chicken cooked fresh and sensationally quickly. Our two wings flavours were the award winning Mango and the Thai - for me I was unbelievably shocked at how good the mango ones were! So flavoursome and they’ve really nailed the recipe. We also got the fried chicken and as far as this goes I really have not had better, the seasoning was well balanced, the meat succulent and let’s not forget the strips - Colonel Sanders watch out buddy! Overall a really brilliant experience and I’ll be back again for sure.
What can I say apart from WOW, this place is unreal, so so good food and great service, i done a 3.5 hour round trip and it was worth it, get yourself down to Bedford
Fantastic food, think I've tried each flavour of chicken and they all banging. I've only done delivery and it can be a wait getting your food as it's so popular but it's worth it. Would recommend ordering beforehand for a particular time so you don't have a long wait. The buffalo chicken with blue cheese dip
After trying a take away last week I decided to take my wife and purchase two portions on the way home, we were told this offer is just for weekdays. We both were looking forward to have chicken fried and chips, but reception told me"sorry only week days, you can have kebab instead!" And when I said we don't like kebab, nothing else were offered. Although the food itself seems nice, customer service need to be much better. Shouldn't turn away customer specially after a long journey to get to the restaurant.
Chicken George is the best fried chicken around!! Have visited this store a couple of times now and the Hitchin one before that and it never fails to impress. The wing flavours are so good and unmatched - the best wings i’ve had. Also love the loaded fries and mac n cheese - whatever you order, you can’t go wrong. The sports bar is great for the football as well. Staff are friendly and it’s all round amazing - never disappointing! I have been here the last three years on my birthday and even went for valentines - I really hope they bring the cookies back as they were to die for.
First time ordering last night. Start with the negatives. Missed out Mac and cheese on our delivery so had to get a refund...and the tins of drink arrived very warm even though they were bagged separately? The positives though was the food was absolutely delicious, particularly my red dragon fillets! They were awesome! Will definitely be coming back for more!
For me, this place is average. I mean that with all due respect to what the owners have grown their business to be. Its one of those places thats hit and miss. When they make the fold properly, its 10/10 but then you get days where the food isn't the best and the staff are really young and with all due respect - immature. They don't treat the customers properly. We paid and were waiting for our food, the girl behind the counter didn't give us a receipt. So we waited right there at the counter for our food. When it arrived, we went to grab the food and they both looked at us like we haven't paid. Both girls asked us for our receipt which we wasn't given. After some confusion we were given our food but for me that experience was highly unprofessional so we wont be going back.
The fried chicken and burgers are amazing, tater tots are so good….my only criticism is that they didn’t have the chicken donner tater tots that they have in the hitchin branch but that’s just because I love them so much….. can’t wait to visit again
Nice, clean local chicken shop. A step above the usual Perfect Fried Chicken / Chicken cottage style places and also KFC. Great variety, friendly staff and 'nice' junk food, what more can you want?
