We were at my husband master's award ceremony at the Abbey. We went out for a celebratory meal, so we popped into Chez and the amboise was amazing. This has been one of the most enjoyable Indians meals we've had, which had an award winning 2018 curry Chef and it was obvious whilst eating the food. The staff were amazing and helpful. We ordered a mixture of meat and veg dishes to share and we really enjoyed it. The food came quick and was so tasty and every mouth full was satisfying, so if you want a great experience please come here. We would definitely visit again.
Excellent Indian restaurant. I've been a few times and the food has always been delicious. A lot of innovative dishes which you don't typically see. Portion sizes were good. Tiger prawns were really big and delicious and the Lamb Xacutti was probably my favourite, a truly tasty but unique flavour and tender pieces of lamb.
Wonderful place to experience Indian food in st Alban's. We found this gem of a place through its high ratings and many awards. The staff are really nice and cater to your needs. The food was well presented and tasted authentic. Cocktails where superbly made. The decor is classy. The only bad point I have to say is as I came late I could tell the staff were eager to close up and go home , and I understand. I will definitely be back Vegetarian options: Lots available Kid-friendliness: Yes Parking: Parked on double yellow Wheelchair accessibility: Yes Dietary restrictions: Yes
I went there for my first time and I noticed the place was totally empty, it took a while to understand if they had a table for two and eventually got something. In general food was good, bottle of wine starts from 25 GBP and ended up to be about 35 GBP each. The dinner place was too big, at least you would think it was from looking outside, and they had a small bar place at the entrance. I might go back to try the bar but food was a be it expensive.
High-end Indian restaurant situated on London Road close to town in St Albans. Lovely interior with crisp white table cloths, luxurious ambience and good service . The food was nice. We had the Mumtaz salad excellent, salted lassi, coriander naan soft and light, prawns very good quality, biryani, lemon rice and spinach with paneer. The spinach was amazing, unlike any we have had before in an Indian restaurant. To end, we had mango brulee also very good. This is one of the best Indian restaurants that St. Albans has to offer. Would visit again. Nice place for a celebration Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian choice
The best Indian restaurant i have been to so i don't mind the long drive to get there. Comfortable clean dining room, friendly and helpful staff and the food is excellent. Best quality ingredients from tiger prawns starters, monkfish curry and amazing lamb chops. Not typical although the usual dishes are also on the menu which is one you want to try everything on! I have been coming here for some years now and the quality and standard remain consistently high.
The staff always make you feel very welcome, the place itself is stylish, always spotless and there is plenty of room between tables. The food has always been excellent, not your traditional British curry house thankfully, with a delicious variety of flavours and styles. It's one of St Alban's best restaurants.
Another outstanding meal as always! Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Easily the best curry place we’ve ever been to. Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian option, all of which are delicious
Beautifully presented delicious food especially the chez mumtaj dessert platter. Loved the experience thoroughly although felt the chicken main dish could have been better in flavour but it's okay rest of the dishes were great. They also gave us complimentary vegetable samosa. There is free parking opposite to this place for one hours.
Really nice restaurant, staff are welcoming and the dishes are really tasty. I had the soft shell crab for starters and that was full of flavour and crispy then I had the beef with a truffle oil mash, that was amazing. The truffle oil really made the dish. My girlfriend also had the black cod for her main and that too was also cooked perfectly with and interesting curry and Mango sauce. Definitely worth a try.
