Great lake, great place to see wildlife and birds. A few free places to park around the lake if you avoid the main pay and display car park.
Beautiful place to visit and wander along the 2.7 kilometre path that meanders it's way around the north shore of the man-made lake. There's an enclosed play area to keep small children entertained and plenty of benches to just sit and watch the world go by. You'll find a pleasant cafe if a bit on the expensive side. Plus you will find several little picnic areas and numberous rubbish bins. The public toilets are free to use, but could do with a good clean. This may simply be down to the high footfall. The parking is free to blue badge holders. For everyone else it's a standard rate of £2.20 for all day. All precautions are taken regarding Covid-19, but unfortunately not everyone is respecting the advice notices, such is life.24/4/22.
It has been nearly 30 years since I visited Chew Valley Lake, and I wasn't disappointed. It has a small playground for children. There is a tiny cafe, which serves drinks and cakes from a window not a sit in area, as there are chairs and tables outside. A fish and chips restaurant and separate toilets. These are in the North car park. On your walk around the nature reserve, you get lovely views of the lake, albeit the water levels are very low at the moment. When walking through picnic area 2, you have a choice of taking a left or right path, through the reserve, with a couple of scattered benches a long the path. The car parking charge is £2.20 for all day. The trail is 2.7km in all.
Gorgeous views of a stunning lake, glad I visited
A beautiful lake. It’s just a shame you can’t really get down to the edge. There are lots of birds in the water and there are areas where you can buy seeds to feed the geese, swans and ducks.
A great place to pull up and watch the birds, ample parking and a shop very close to get your food and drink
Amazing place, super pretty views, walks, car parks!!! No spicers plenty of beigers!!! If you like shopping at go outdoors the this will be like a walking catalog viewing!! Lots of rural parkour!!! Stunning sunsets or amazing gray and drizzly,,,, it's got both!!!
Relaxing place to enjoy the wildlife and nature. Walks from car parks. Herriets Pool best place to see swans & various ducks. Don't forget, feed then seed NOT BREAD.
Good place for a stroll, very accessible for pushchairs etc. Car park is £2.20 for the day.
£2 for all day parking, £1 refund if you spend £7 in the restaurant. Bit disappointed that there are no circular route to walk around entire lake. Quite muddy and not that much to see. Good for walking a dog minus the mud.
