Just had gluten-free chicken kebab with chips it was absolutely delicious. My children had a burger and chips and chicken nuggets and chips. They said they was the best ones they’ve ever tasted. Keep up the good work Chesters. Our meal and drinks cost around £78. Generous portions, absolutely delicious food. The staff was very friendly and understanding of my autistic child who can be a bit difficult in restaurants. They were very patient and calm. Especially the dark haired lady. She was lovely. I would definitely eat there again. Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. There is a kids playground towards the back. They also have a.pensioners discount day. Highly recommended.
We booked in advance but there was only one other table in use. We had the small fish & chip dinner with a choice of peas. It was extremely tasty and we both enjoyed it a lot. We also said that if what we had was the small fish, we wouldn't be able to eat a large one. The food was good the service was good but as it was so empty there wasn't an atmosphere really. A friend commented on the fact that when she visited the food was served immediately. She wasn't happy as the food wasn't freshly cooked for them. It was from the retail fish & chip counter next door It didn't bother me when I visited but she felt she was paying restaurant prices for chip shop food ! Different people will always see things differently won't they ? Personally it was good food, excellent fish, chips weren't very hot but that would be the only negative We don't go often, but it seems to be consistently good Parking: We went on a day that wasn't busy. The car park can get busy but someone said there's an overflow car park
Had chicken kebab from the take away. Pitta and salad was nice, but the meat was dry. Probably shouldn't go for a kebab in the daytime! 4 rather than 3 stars as frankly the fish looked great and I should have had that.Food: 4/5
Great food and service. Only had battered sausage, Chinese curry and chips but a decent sized portion and was piping hot. Price reasonable too.Food: 5/5
Lovely staff, sang for my son for his birthday and friendly service. Food was great and we sat in the boat seating so was like being at the seaside! Will definitely return. Make sure you park in the restaurant car park and put your reg in the iPad on arrival to avoid any parking charges.Food: 5/5
Coeliac review: this place is great for those’d with a gluten intolerance or coeliac disease like myself. I was blown away with how much choice I had and had to take several moments on deciding what to have. The gentleman taking the order was confident in allergy and contamination procedures and for the first time in years, I felt safe to order a takeaway like everyone else. That honestly would have been enough for me to give a good review but the fish was by far, the best I’ve ever had. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to give food choices to coeliacs. I promise you, it’s hugely appreciated.
Thought I’d try this place due to all the good review's so I popped in on my way home from work. But I was sadly disappointed, chips cold and tasteless and the curry sauce wasn’t up to much either. Maybe it was because of the time I called 20mins before closing time. I will definitely not be returning anytime soon.Food: 1/5
