The station itself is quite good, with a small car park, a waiting shelter with seating and step free access to both platforms via an underpass.nThe train service here lets it down massively which is why I've only given it 2 stars. The train service from this station is infrequent and unreliable. Only timetabled to be a train every 2 hours each way for most of the day and they're frequently cancelled.nIf the service ever improves I would upgrade my rating.
Very tidy, original features station. Not much parking - maybe 12-20 spaces. Service is pretty sparse , can be 2hrs between trains.
This is lovely little station, and a much quicker way of getting into town than buses and metros. Average journey time to Newcastle is 10 minutes. Clean and tidy, it's always a pleasure to travel from here.
Long high street with usual array of shops cafes and pubs. A few empty but not enough to put you off. Larger supermarkets on outer areas.
Nice having a local station, and it's usually clean and tidy. Free parking is great also.nnPity it doesn't have electronic timetables boards or covered seatng on the platform
