My wife and I just went for Sunday lunch at the Cheques, which is now under new management. What a great improvement and enjoyable experience. The staff are friendly and can't do enough for you. The food tasted great, you can actually taste the gravy unlike another pub that we recently visited in Turnford. The chocolate brownie was pretty awesome with real pieces of chocolate. Reasonably priced too. We will go back. They also do special offers during the week.
Table 11, Friday 19th December 2025, 7:30pm.nnPopped in for dinner on Friday night. Hadn't reserved but within moments staff had found us a table. Really friendly service and quick response when a side was delayed getting to the table.nFood was filling and good.nA special mention to Hannah, who like the other staff was busy keeping on top of things, made time to check things were going fine with food and drinks. She was impeccable in her service, helpful and smiling. Gutted there is no way to tip unless paying cash.nnWe'll definitely be back again soon.
Great service lovely beer garden with kids playground. Food is ok got a few nibbles. halloumi fries are amazing!! Do pitchers of cocktails for £10 which is decent.
I popped in for a drink and sat at the bar. Staff were very chatty and welcoming to everyone that came up to the bar. Food smelt amazing as it went past. It was also nice to see an area for a private function. Will 100% be returning now it’s under new management
This local pub always gets mixed reviews.nnMy experience attending here a number of times for booked refreshments is that the food is tasty and freshly prepared, the staff try hard to please and the atmosphere is genial. So it’s a safe bet for this type of event if you need to book it.
