Attractive town central area. Famous old cast iron bridge between England and Wales. Reasonable selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs.
Nice little railway station. It has a good looking station building, although it did not appear to be staffed during my visit. The bridge also caught my eye, as unlike most stations it actually has some character.nnIt has regular Transport for Wales services between Cheltenham and Cardiff/Maesteg as well as the occasional CrossCountry train between Brimingham/Nottingham and Cardiff.nnThere is no step free access available to get to the Cardiff bound platform. There are no tactile markings on the platform edge, but there are audible announcements in both Welsh and then English.
lovely little station with a manned ticket office
Rounded off our wonderful holiday in Chepstow a final visit to the Cafe where we were treated with politeness and kindness from a young lady member of staff recommending the best food for a return journey to North Wales - This more or less summed up our stay as everyone in Chepstow seemed so polite and helpful - Soon we hope to return - John Steele
This is a nice historic town with lots of medieval history to it. You can still see lots of evidence of the castle walls and it has a castle still there.
