A most worthy castle to visit. From its early norman foundations to the extensions under the Marshall family, William Marshall being England's greatest knight. Most of it is still accessible under social distancing. Quite a long castle built upon the cliff edge, can see the bedrock at points.
Visited today. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but we took some great photos of the exterior. It's a big and very well preserved castle. There is a car park just few meters away and a nice path to walk around most of its perimeter.
Pretty small castle in a very good condition. unfortunately could not get into as I was late. Though, had a very nice walk around. There is a parking space nearby, and the village around itself is also lovely. Very accessible for a quick drive by if you are visiting Bristol by car.
Well worth a visit. I would recommend buying tickets beforehand as the inside of the Castle is vast and more interesting than the walk outside of the walls. It takes about an hour to see everything inside. There is a car park and free toilets on site. There are also plenty of places to eat within a short walk.
Very nice views from the castle. It's also really nice to just walk around the castle grounds at your own leisure.
It's good to pre-book your tickets online. There is a car parking just in front of the castle. It's £1.50 for up to two hours.
