Had an early dinner at this nice little restaurant in Edmonton Green. Was visiting a friend and went there to have some Indian food. The cuisine can be called Tamil/ Sri Lankan food they have some good North Indian varieties as well. Tried medu vada with coconut chutney for starter. It was ok. Decent Tried idiyappam/ sothi/ sambal- it was good Chicken varuval was really nice a good portion and tasted fresh and was my favorite. Tried Srilanka chicken curry which tasted nice as well. We finished off with some kersari and vanilla ice cream. The vanilla ice cream unlike in most places really tasted of milk and it was really good.
Fantastic food and value for money. Menu all halal alcohol also served. Go for their kottu roti which is an authentic novelty item from South India, and my favourite dosa is plain onion or rava. Starters wise, give chicken varuval a go - perfect blend of hot and spicy. Family favourite is also chilli fried idli. Wife ordered a lamb curry but when this was not to her liking, waiter staff very happy to take off our bill and assist with alternatives. Booked table in advance but didn't need to even on busy Friday night. If you want a nice quiet evening, ask for and insist on restaurant side rather than live music/entertainment side which can get loud and irritating and can still be heard on quiet restaurant side. Staff friendly, helpful with menu and very amenable to this. Food served very quickly and all freshly made. Drinks slightly on expensive side ?£2.50-3 for 330ml can, but not horrendous - tap water freely available. Pack away leftovers. Parking is okay in residential areas - go after core hours for free street side parking. In my opinion, one of the best south Indian restaurants in North/East London. Vegetarian options: Vast amount of options
The idiyappam and dosa is well made and also new dessert we tried on suggestion of the waiter- wayadam was very nice.pic 1 But naan was bad. And almost supermarket like Chiken 65 and was blant Chilly chiken was not even chinese flavour it was indian spice with loads of red coloring and tumeric and no red chilly. Chiken saagwala is - was only ideal for dibetic and kids with spice tolerance. The worst experience was the tandoori mixed grill- 16 £ for tiny and over cooked. Vegetarian options: Lods of vegetarian option
Had a high expectations considering the reviews but totally dissatisfied with the chicken rice noodles. The spices were not mixed well. The plain dosa and chicken fried rice were average. These stars are for the dosa.Food: 3/5
Just had à scrumptious dinner. Friendly staff. Those who appreciate Chennai Indian food will like their food. See photos for our order.Food: 5/5
If you can avoid this place do so at any cost, service and the due care attention from waiting staff to chef is below par. Food came out greasey, cold and instead of changing the food the staff was reluctant to listen to the customer! These people do not care. Poor customer services, food was cold and experience was atrocious, sad thing is; I'm writing this review whilst im in the restaurant. I always tip whereever I eat but sadly the only tip I believe they deserve is this review and that was being generous with my time
Ordered a butter chicken as a takeaway away ..it was just bones with bit of meat and a wing added to it...the gravy was watery and definitely no cream or butter to it...Food: 1/5
Tasty and yummy food- Sri Lankan and South Indian style cuisine.I have tried Vadai, Idli and Dosa so far. All yummy.
Clean, Well presented, Great service even though restaurant was very busy due to Mother's Day. Indian music was running on the background.. each and every person had a smile on their face. Enjoy the food the most. Definitely going back and highly recommended..... Vegetarian options: Plenty dishes for vegetarian with great traditional spice taste. Average priced. Not expensive. Plenty of parking off the street can be tricky.
Great food! shame same cant be said for the customer servicepoor waited a while before i had to get staff's attention to order drinks then had to tell them drinks hadnt arrived yet, saying that the food arrived prompt, but the shocker of the night was when restaurant got really busy and social distancing went out the window as restaurant decided to fill a table right behind us which was no way 2meter distance was more like 2cm, told the management i wasnt happy and situation got sorted. Overall great food, could do with a bit of low music playing in background and decor could do with an upgrade.
