I went there in my first visit and I met a family I never know before, such friendly people and healthy atmosphere among the whole community over there, its become one of my favourite places to go there and socialise with others.
Got a lovely welcome both weeks I have attended. Good mix of people some young and some kids and a couple of very old. Enjoyed the singing and was very greatful for the help I received when taking communion as I have a tremor. The same person also helped by carrying my brew for me. I managed my own choc biscuit. Felt very at home. I have a mental illness and it was not a problem at all. Very all together feeling. Loved it.
I brought my daughter her twice for the mum& toddler group, she became unwell twice as the toys don't look clean you could see the filth on them, neither did some of the parents or children. Hygiene doesn't cost much. Cleanliness is close to godlyness.
Chelwood is an intergenerationally-minded church that aims to value everybody equally.  We want to learn and grow together in our faith and so lots of what we do including Sunday mornings is with all ages included. ​We are a Church that is much more than just Sunday mornings.  The church is open every day of the week with lots of activities and you would be very welcome, whoever you are! Families are very welcome at Chelwood and we want to help them worship God together, both at church and in the home.  This happens in a number of different ways but has previously included '40Acts of Generosity' and 'Thy Kingdom Come' prayer initiatives.  We meet together informally and do occasional activities after Sunday church.  We believe that the church is a spiritual family and so we facilitate intergenerational relationships that we believe are beneficial to the young and the old. ​On the second Friday of every month we have a family Bible study using “Bake through the Bible”.  Its an hour 4pm – 5pm of baking and chatting about a Bible story.  All are welcome.  We also run family nights and film nights regularly.
If this is your thing give it a go lovely people who will talk about most things and don't throw religion at you. I believe they do an awful lot for the community. Well done everyone
