Failure to collect the refuse yet again. My husband phoned last week, only to be told that "He should have phoned on Tuesday to let them know." Err maybe it's because we are busy in our own jobs. I wasn't aware that it was the residents job to micro manage the bin men. Why should we have to remind them to do a job they are paid to do?!? Absurd !!!!
Need to know why the pot holes are so bad right now? Surely a team could spend a week fixing the roads? Stop and dump would work. If these people were private contractors we would not employ them.thwy have let the city go to ruin, the high Street is full of vagrants now and it's starting to look like a ghetto in places.
A rude, unprofessional, disrespectful organisation. The endless switchboards and haphazard website are constructed to deliberately discourage communication or engagement with local residents. Try to actually log an issue such as crumbling local roads, sidewalks or overgrown fauna and you’ll be fobbed off weeks later, with zero remedial works undertaken. How can an organisation be so ruthless and aggressive in chasing revenues, yet be so utterly hopeless in returning any kind of services. The conduct of this council is worryingly similar to that a failing, fraudulent private enterprise.
Lived here all my life, fine when i was little but as others have mentioned negligence and corruption is creeping in : Hot on fines, cold on help and run by skeleton crew so no one to talk to.
The entire service seems to be staffed by recorded messages. They don't even have a receptionist. I visited the offices as I needed to speak to building control, only to be told, they are "not public facing". 10 mins on hold and then cut off. The team leader has a recorded message inviting you to leave a message, but the mail box is full, so impossible. Emails are not responded to. It is like trying to talk to a brick wall and the building completion certificate is something which I have already paid for. The query raised by the building inspector was emailed to his superior 13 days ago, and he hasn't replied. Just not good enough.
Staff are rude and not helpful. Finances seem to just dissapear and no one bars an eye lid......... All these money saving quick fixes but the saved money is no where and now they can't even be bothered to cut the grass, even when met office have issued red warning and nationally warned about fires, Essex Fire Service and Rescue have spoke out repeatedly about in summer there are many more accidental and deliberate fires, Chelmsford Council laugh in their faces and argue it is for wildlife but in the next breath they MUST build houses and destroy green spaces and farming land.
Apparently dustmen or dustpersons I suppose nowadays cannot collect an extra bag by communal bins due to health and safety.....Pathetic.
Shocking! Staff are rude and the website doesnt work! They have sent me a council tax bill online which takes me to a broken page and last time I called up the staff were really rude so they are gona have to call me if they want that payment
Appalling service they need to start refunding people money as they do not provide the services they state on the yearly council tax form. No bins collected new dates given bins not collected. See plenty of bin trucks down lanes and farm laybys sitting there not picking up refuse but out on the road. Tried phoning but after 20 minutes they terminate the call. This is the way you treat your citizens with utter contempt and are very quick to threaten people for late payment. You as a council have no morals are rude to people but will not tolorate people trying to express their opinion. I think people in Chelmsford need to wake up and stop excepting this level of incompetencies.
Chelmsford was looking so pretty with all its Christmas decorations and lights however I could not enjoy Christmas while ignoring all the poor homeless people scattered all around Chelmsford, sleeping rough in shop doorways in the freezing cold, some kicked, bruised and battered from being attacked at night while they sleep. homeless women with mangled hair caked in dirt, hopeless...and hungry. I pay so much money in tax...why is my money as an first priority not going to help and home these poor people who are the most vulnerable in society..Change the system so that they do not need a fixed address to claim benefits and use the many abandoned buildings in Chelmsford to provide them each with a room so they can get back on their feet again. I can't believe that in a country as rich as the UK and in this day and age of supposed progress I am having to write such a review. P.S. I am also not impressed by the black bin collection schedule particularly over the summer period: Emptying bins every 2 weeks only allows flies to breed in the festering waste and it is not a pretty sight to see maggots crawling out of my bin and all over the road..yuck..
