Private apartments situated off the main road in Netley, opposite the Abbey. Accessible through electric gates into a large green with the splendid looking building at the bottom overlooking Southampton Water. Some of it was first built during the reign of Henry VIII as a fort to protect the port from the likes of the French, I’m led to believe. The last part being added in the early 2000s and well done too. Inside is a communal hall with a fire place and then different private apartments. The views are lovely but obviously comes at a cost with maintenance fees but it looks well worth it. There is a public path that runs along the front along the shoreline, where you can get an idea of the full splendour of this fine building.
The Castle looks great but it is not open for the public, so it's possible enjoy the view just from the distance this is why I didn't put 5 stars.
It's very nice outside. Hopefully one day get to see inside aswell.
