It's disappointing about the mixed food quality at the chip shop, especially with the sausages needing further cooking at home. I liked this chippy before but has recently been taken over by new staff. This is not a chippy anymore even though signs are still up as though it's a chippy. Its disgusting. I was expecting chippy chips and fish and instead I got this. The fish is clearly frozen fish that should be cooked in the oven yet it was deep fried so was covered in oil and grease. 1 sausage and curry was missing. Curry sauce I did get was freezing cold. I asked for a muffin and got a burger bun and then instead of chippy chips I got French fries. Tried to call and just keeps ringing out. Do not go here please
This was a great chippy when it first opened but i dont know who has got it now the worst chippy the chips was like mc donalds frys thay was cold and the meat pie was like something out of a microwave and the gravy all lumpy avoid this place at all costsFood: 1/5
Typed by my boyfriend. We walked in and asked for chip barm and chips and curry to be told they ran out of curry. Told no fish either, asked then for a large and a small portion of chips. They guy behind the counter who didn’t appear to be on this planet said ok. He boxed up a portion of chips and asked if we want a fork. I said no mate, I asked for a large and a small portion of chips, to be told he’d run out of chips. What a joke and a waste of fifteen minutes. No brains and no sense of customer service from this bloke. He’s lucky I’m calmer than I used to be.
Disgustingly long wait just to be served by rude staff for bad food! I'm not from the area and didn't know any better but my friend is now embarrassed for sending me here to pick up our tea. The chips were hard and greasy, and the batter on the fish was like glue, I couldn't even eat it. My friend said the gravy wasn't great either, even if it did disguise the chips! Fit for the bin
This chippy used to be the best in the area but now it's been taken over the food quality has dropped the prices has gone up and the overall standards have diminished...thankfully 1 member of the old staff remain as she's lovely but new owners seem very dismissive... If you want to have a business serving the public you should in my opinion be a people person, such a shame this place has gone downhill
Manda Jay are you sure it was charlies chippy Gorton? I always eat from there never once had thick batter would recommend this chip shop all day long! And as for the chips never undercooked always cooked to perfection
4 of us have just eaten from this chippy for the first time, it was delivered within 10 minutes of ordering, which is great when you only have half hour for your lunch. We all really enjoyed it and would definitely eat from Charlies chippy again, just one small thing you forgot salt and vinegar on one of the orders, but no big deal. Thank you
Wanted fish and chips on Friday..£3 odd for small fish . Well what a load of rubbish..chips were pale undercooked and greasy and the fish had been cooked in Chinese batter..if I'd wanted sweet and sour fish it would have been fine..really horrible chippy tea..felt like throwing up
Sorry to say. Reheated fish and chips. Not nice at all. Won’t be going again.Food: 1/5
