I had a smooth transaction with Shauna. Took 10 mins in the counter for all the items I want to sell and register me in their website for the receipt. Got the money by bank transfer the following day. Hassle free for me. Took me longer to queue than the deal itself LOL
Do not sell your items here absolutely no clue and a manager who had s absolute immature inexperienced little girl who likes to make comments in front of other customers keeps throwing around she a manager anyway handed in my phone to sell they checked it over before they took it it was sealed and boxed I was happy they was happy told me come back in a hour I did this to find the phone still there and them telling me after accepting it in new condition boxed all of a sudden there is a apparent rip this after they took it from me checked it was new and sealed and a hour later ..... No respect she came in first thing was I got the cameras and I'm the manager and I can only pay B grade due to a box they accepted and there was no rip as far I'm concerned where the rip is. made a scence in front of whole street because I dare challenge her on this walked away verbally abusive behind showed no empathy or care more importantly they took. A phone boxed no rip accepted it after checking wasted 90 min s of my life to tell me I gave them a damaged box she wanted to argue and keep repeating she the manager well with respect cex I'm also a manager and will be taken legal action as our deal when handed over was legally binded and also you treated me like a criminal and very disrespectful one sided story I walked away as she wanted to argue and again about 10 times she said she a manager and she got CCTV said that fine and not how you deal with customers or situations anyway will be taking legal action as area development manager for a huge electronic company , absolute disgrace it would have been ok not a big issue if you dealt with it correctly and respectful.
Some items are overpriced and can be found online for similar prices to what they go for second-hand here but CeX is great for retro games. I've been collecting Xbox 360 games this last year and they are much cheaper here than ebay. For example, MK 2011 Komplete was £28 here but when I checked its price on eBay it was over £100. I've never had a faulty disc from CeX, whereas I have had a few from eBay.

Do not expect a smooth service. Visited the Mansfield store to sell an unwanted item, was told the item would require testing as standard at Cex and to return in 45 minutes, on arrival in store after 45 minutes I was told to wait a further 30 minutes, to which I did. On store arrival after the additional 30 minutes I was informed my best option was now to provide my details to receive a bank transfer, leaving the item with the team. I received a phone call asking for me to authorise an email in order for my payment to be authorised into my bank. No email received, store now closed with my item and no money or sign of payment.
Really impressed. I bought an iPad from here in August which started losing battery rapidly three months later. Took it back and it was tested in 30 minutes and a replacement provided. Really great service.
Came few days ago to sell my phone good condition and no technical and structure damage on it. At first gave pricing for it which agreed then upon failed testing so I came today 23/08/2023 to collect my phone as I didn’t agree with their asesstement. I was left over half an hour waiting as they lost my phone and testing guy has misplaced. For a good 20 min left me with no explanation then was approach they are checking with the member of staff where they put it. Then asked me to wait longer to check CCTV. all this time waiting and they were looking for a wrong phone although I pointed out that my phone on the shelf as I can see it. Waited over half an hour for no reason then two people came and asked me to give them a receipt when I first came. I explained I didn’t have it as I was not given one when I requested and told me will receive on an email which I never did. Then told me it failed testing as phone has a code so they couldn’t test it. I explained that wasn’t reason given to me when one of your staff phoned me to let me know it failed due to bended phones which isn’t. Eventually a member staff I would have gave you a receipt last time and said no you didn’t. Can’t believe waited over half an hour for this mess. Won’t be using their service in the future!!
Where to start with Cex Mansfield overall lack of customer service skills that seems to never be addressed over numerous of occasions from people's views of the local store. Firstly, the lack of smiles, friendliness or enthusiasm from a customer service point of view is shocking. Every time you get served, they look extremely miserable and look unhappy to serve you, let alone give you even a glimpse of a smile. As I work in customer service myself, this sort of poor approach wouldn't stand in my environment. You will also end up standing aimlessly for ages to be seen, whilst they chat amongst themselves without even doing anything or being productive to serve customers who are waiting in line. Obviously the majority are younger who work in CEX, however, seems people leave all the time, and who they replace have the same, miserable, none smiling or interesting approach to customers a like, clearly a lack of training or from store manager are happening, in regards to their persona when approaching a customer. Overall, always a uncomfortable experience.
I went to the Mansfield branch, all the staff was so helpful as I have no knowledge about consoles, I am buying my husband a console for Xmas, all the staff have been so helpful & made me feel at ease, thank you all the team at Cex
