I've only given one star because it won't let me give none, phoned at 8-30 this morning to be 37 in the queue, finally got through to the receptionist, I said I needed to see a doctor, she asked me what the problem was, so I told her, only to be told that I needed to speak to the pharmacist, how a receptionist knows who I need to speak to I will never know anyway, she said she would get the pharmacist from boots next door to call me, admittedly the pharmacist did call back fairly quick, but she said I probably needed to see a doctor, but I could come down and see her and she would be able to get me in with a doctor if I needed one.nWhen I got to the pharmacy I was told she was busy and could be half an hour, I didn't have time to wait and was told to come back after 2-30, which I did, and as expected was told I needed to see a doctor, she took the referral to the surgery, and I came home, just after getting home a different receptionist phoned me to say a doctor would be ringing me soon, over an hour later a doctor called and said I needed to be seen and could I come in at 5-30, I agreed and had to trail back down there for the third time today. I then sat in the waiting room until 6-10 before I was seen, I needed medication but the pharmacy shuts at 6 so I now have to wait until tomorrow before I can get it. This could all have been sorted this morning if the receptionist had actually given me an appointment instead of fobbing me off
This is one of the best surgeries I have been a patient at. They are a busy surgery and yes when I ring up I will be in a queue but I don’t think that’s any different to any other surgeries. Medical staff are proactive and my issues are either resolved at appointment or I’ve been referred/signposted. I have had some telephone appointments which have worked ok and again issues resolved. Thank you Cestria.
Tried Phoning 8.30 Thursday 28th March answer machine is still Om saying they are now closed and reopening at 8.00am on 2nd of January. The phone line needs to be improved. and online appointment would be good.
A big shout out to your Receptionist “LYNNE”. For the second time in a week she has helped me out in a very efficient manner.nCredit where credit is due, many thanks.
I’ve only been with the practice a few month and I’m already having to move. When I moved here I was told that non of my information from my old GP had been moved over. I understand that’s not their fault and I’ve been willing to work with them to tell them my issues, but physical and mental, which has been incredibly difficult to say the least.nnAt first they were ok, done a couple referrals here and there, but those referrals fell through, again, I get it, the NHS is stupidly busy and severely under staffed. But the last straw was on a recent referral I needed to go back on tablets I take for PCOS. I needed blood tests done to make sure I was ok to continue them, but when I went in, the nurse said “so this is for kidney issues.” I tried telling her no but she wouldn’t have it, once done she gave the whole “no news is good news” speech, that was 3 weeks ago. I’ve tried calling the GP, doing e-consults the works, but nothing. My cries for help have been falling on deaf ears, and once again, my mental health is at an all time low.nnI understand the NHS is struggling, but so are its patients.nnSide note, having to call for same day appointments doesn’t work. The phones lines are jammed and when you can eventually get through, all the appointments are gone.
