Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art

About

A unique art gallery and venue that explores Chinese contemporary culture and visual art. It's free to enter and we're open six days a week.

Story

Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA) is leading the UK in exploring Chinese contemporary culture through a diverse range of art and artists. Centrally located in Manchester’s creative Northern Quarter, our gallery is open six days a week and free to enter.

We have a proud 30-year history of UK ‘first’ solo exhibitions, featuring exceptional emerging artists that go on to achieve international acclaim. We work with a wide array of partners to provide audiences with a lively and innovative programme of exhibitions, residencies, engagement projects, festivals and events.

As the only non-profit organisation in Europe to specialise in Chinese contemporary art and visual culture we are uniquely placed to explore the trans-cultural debates that will shape our future.

The Art might be Chinese but the paid workforce definitely isn’t. Disconcerting that this organisation doesn’t hire people from the very country it seeks to financially benefit from.
A small but very well presented and run gallery with interesting exhibits.
Fantastic ! I loved the exhibitions, souvenir shop and staff was very friendly. If I'm ever back in Manchester, I'll go again for some fresh art.
I absolutely adore it, the fact they allow artists to stay in is amazing. The art is mind blowing even though the gallery itself is quite small.
Really enjoyed this art gallery. Very interesting exhibitions and very friendly staff.
Nice little gallery that shows a point of view we're not used to see.
Lovely little gallery, friendly staff & an excellent shop. Always worth a visit.
Definitely worth popping in. Interesting east asian art exhibits
A very small place, with one or two small exhibitions at a time. The best time to go is on the third Thursday of each month where the resident artist will hold an open exhibition of their work. I would go if you happen to pass by, but it's not something to plan your trip around seeing.
