An institution at the centre of town, this place can become mayhem as the day ebbs and students flood it. Staff are usually unfazed by all this mayhem, pulling pints patiently and efficiently and handing them into increasingly unsteady hands as the evening progresses. Outside term time and in the off hours, the place can be a haven of peace where solid pub grub and a nice pint can be enjoyed alongside decent conversation.

Probably the must reliable classic pub in st Andrews. Busy but not too busy. Good selection of beers. Nice staff. All the pub food you would expect.
