I looked after a cat for one year when the elderly owner died as his relatives wanted her put down. I moved to a flat where taking the cat was impossible so I contacted the cat protection adoption service. I was blown away by the care and attention and have every faith that the clever and cheeky Missy has a wonderful new home
Cats protection..came and picked up Catford cat litter..and other few items..from our late Mrs boo..who was 19 when she left us. Knowing her goodies has gone to helping other cats ..allows us a more happier head space.. We've loads of clothes jewelry.. and other bits that when have loads will donate to this amazing charity. Thank you Sarah for coming to pick up Boos stuff
This organization was extremely helpful in helping me to get my cat neutered. The woman on the phone was lovely and sent me a voucher in the post that'll let me get my cat neutered at a 50% discount. The lady on the phone also mentioned places where I can get it done for free since I'm currently on benefits. But yeah, a great organization! I'm extremely grateful for all their assistance. Thanks Cats Protection League ^_^
I had a wonderful experience with this team. I left a really panicked message on there answering machine out of hours explaining that I had 2 week old kittens and mum had not returned from a break outside. They called me back first thing. They gave me 3 options. 1. I could come in and they would teach me how to hand feed. 2. I could leave them and they would be adopted. 3. They would be looked after and fed by a local Foster mum. Until mum returns. I choose option 3. I dropped my kittens to the centre to very friendly staff. 3 days later mum returned......I was able to pick up my fed and healthy kittens from there foster mother who had doing this as a volunteer. I'm so grateful. Thank you North London Centre and the foster cat mum.
We missed our chosen adoptee...darn it...gotta be quick! Such kind and helpful staff, and a shop with great cat toys... I'll keep looking for a furry friend. Update: Adopted this little rescue girl, she's adorable!
I just wanted to say thank you so very much for allowing me to adopt 2 cats in 2006 one of whom has just died at the age of 17.5. He was such a lovely cat who I miss very much. His elder sister is still going strong.
I had a very sad experience with the north London cats protection. We adopted 2 cats that were mother and daughter. They initially appeared very friendly and forthcoming although would not sit on our lap or tolerate being picked up which is fine. After a couple of days things became very difficult as they started pooing everywhere except in the cat litter which we changed to different cat litter a few times and cleaned often. At least one of them was completely deaf and we weren’t told this, however I would have expected them to have worked this out and told us as she had previously been with a foster carer I think there was something perhaps psychologically wrong with one of them as she also pooed in her sleeping area. Unfortunately in the end we had to take them back because they were unmanageable but felt very very sad and also noted that all the descriptions of the cats were all very rosy and painted a glowing picture and perhaps it would be harder to get rid of them but a little more reality would be much better we were really sorry to have to take them back but weren’t able to manage the constant cleaning
I can't personally view your centre as I have never been there.. It's just a general opinion of what I am reading plus the rescue centres I have been too. Everyone encourages people to adopt but a lot of charities make it impossible to adopt a pet if you live in a flat or even in a house. They won't give you a cat if you live near a road. I have 6 cats and I live near one of the busiest roads in London and my cats are fine. It seems that cats in the rescue homes are in cages and all these rules are stopping a lot of them getting a home and if they had a choice they would prefer a home to a rescue place in a cage. I used to foster dogs and I didn't have a garden but I took the dogs to the park and out at least 4 times a day. I wouldn't be given a dog at any rescue because they insist on a garden. I have a garden now and a dog but my dog wont do her business in the garden so I have to take her out to do it. My friend couldn't get a dog from a rescue because he didn't have a garden so he got a 5 year old dog from Gumtree who he takes to work and is always in the park with. If this dog had been at a rescue centre he would never have been allowed to be adopted by my friend. It's not because people don't want to rescue its because it is made impossible to rescue plus more and more people are turning to breeders to buy animals because of this reason. It just defeats the object.
Incredibly disappointed with the hostility that I experienced when I visited the cattery today. I was greeted with a member of staff who genuinely felt like she didn't have time for me. I am not an experienced cat owner however I have the best intentions of waiting for a suitable cat for my circumstances. I merely dropped by with a friend to gain some better knowledge of the process of cat adoption. My questions to this woman were met with her talking on top of me and condescending me. I was then forced to fill in a form and basically 'shut up'. I then asked if I was contacting the right phone number available on the website as I had called many times before and no one answered the phone, she responded 'well I don't know, never been on the website!' Moments before this a mother and her young child were also enquiring to which she said 'everything is on the website!' I am a very patient person but I left the centre feeling traumatised by my experience and safe to say it has changed my opinions on these charities. I do believe the cats are well looked after but appalled by the hospitality. I gained more information from a leaflet than making the effort to drop by in person. I had a much better experience at the Battersea Cattery and would highly recommend that any day.
Absolutely amazing. My partner and I had the best experience ever in adopting a Cat from the guys at Junction Road. The staff were perfect and talked us through the adoption process in great detail. Thanks again. P. S we adopted Simone and she is amazing, we also changed her name to Shylo and she loves her new home.
