Castleton Village was lovely with a quaint church and some expensive shops. Shame about the wet and windy day.
Decent car park with great amenities. There’s a loo on site and a cafe too. It is extremely busy during peak times and the parking spaces are tight. I left my 2 month old vehicle here overnight whilst staying at a local hotel and someone scratched down the side panels, costing lots to fix. This could happen anywhere, but given the volume of vehicles coming and going, slightly larger spaces would prevent things like this from happening. It costs just under £11 for 24hrs. You can pay on your phone if you prefer however I did overhear some people saying that this doesn’t work out of normal working weekday hours.
- A convenient place to park.nn- This is a popular spot so you might have to wait for a place to become available. It was fairly competitive when I made visits.nn- It is pay and display where the machines accepts COINS only. Or, you can use Pay by Phone app. The 4G/5G network was not so strong in the region so you might want to download the app beforehand.nn- The icecream shop is nice.nn- The tourist centre is also nice and you can get a lot of useful information from there. They have quite a few interesting books for Peak District and trekking information.
Great village to visit. Car park is very reasonable. Public toilets on hand too.
It's a car park. Not much to say. Surface appears fairly new, disabled spaces available, lines easily seen and machines obviously and clean. You can still pay with coins, so no worries if you're struggling for phone signal or your bank has been hacked.
