Very much a hidden gem of Helmsley . I feel I am very lucky that Castle Stores is very near to where we live. An absolutely wonderful shop -think "child in a sweetie shop syndrome". Huge selections of different types of wool ranging from specialist Yorkshire wools to cashmere to cheaper starter types Very reasonable prices, much better than a lot of shops I have shopped in for wool,over the years. A big selection for knitting patterns,needles and buttons too. What makes this shop so special are the owners so friendly and knowledgeable and they are happy to spend time with you sorting out what you really want. For those who dont knit but like handknitted garments there are lots to buy that you can wear. Sited just off the main square opposite the Church/Feversham Arms -worth hunting it out .
