One of a couple of car parks in Thornbury town - clearly marked with long and short term spaces when this applies and the signs indicating this are clearnnit is of a decent car park even though it is one of the smaller car parks but well worth the extra walk
No longer a free car park.nnBiggest con ever: TICKETLESS PARKING.nnPay by card in Machines or use the Mipermit app.nnPaid via machine did say approved but had no notification on my phone or anything pending on my bank account to say that it had been paid which usually happens when I use my card.nnSo then used mipermit app to pay and notification came through from bank straight away.nnNow at the end of the day the first payment has showed up as International Park but mipermit still says mipermit.nnSo I would suggest if parking here use the app to be on the safe side.
It's free and long and short stay. Easy walk to town up an initial slope. Great that Thornbury has free car parking. A real draw to the town.
Free to use and a good numberof spaces. Bays for Long and Short Stay parking are clearly marked. Not knowing Thornbury, I might not have found it without Google Maps... But a good place from which to start a walk out in to countryside.
Just off the main high street which is now closed to traffic and going to be permanently pedestrianised. When it's raining the spots at the top of the car park get water logged due to insufficient drainage. So best to avoid these spaces during inclimate weather unless you fancy stepping out of your car into a puddle. Pre pandemic this car park could get busy, so things will be even worse now we've lost the spaces on the high street the council did hold a consultation process; but it was a which of these three terrible scenarios, you didn't ask for, would you like.nnHowever the car park is a good jumping off point to get to the Mundy playing fields with a gate leading into a nice field that will take you to the Mundy playing fields.nnEdit: Sep 2022nnShould have updated sooner as changes have been made for a while, but the council must have read my review as the spaces at the top of the car park have been modified to improve the drainage with cut outs to let the water drain onto the grass banks.
