First impressions suggested an improvement over the previous owners, furniture and fixtures more in keeping with Cartmel. The tables are still a bit crowded together but I suppose they want to get as many people in as possible. I thought £2.60 was a bit steep for a not-huge Americano. On tasting it I realized it was Atkinson's coffee from Lancaster which has a characteristic smokey yet weak taste. That's a shame as the hotel next door advertises CoffeCare coffee, a far superior bean. Just my opinion, obviously!
