Been twice in the last few months and service has been incredibly slow. They should not take large bookings or fill to capacity if the kitchen and servers can’t manage the high numbers. Waited 2.5 hours today for a roast, pre booked, with no one updating us or even asking if we wanted more drinks. Seems tables with those local to the pub or friendly with staff got far faster service, a group just as big as ours, all with roasts, who came in after us, had eaten and left before we’d even received our meals. Won’t be going back, far better restaurants in the area.
Just been to the Carpenters for Sunday lunch and the food was amazing. Had steak and ale pie but the Sunday roast which my wife had was also great. Staff were all helpful and will definitely being going back.Service: 5/5
Went here with friends and three young, well behaved Whippets..the Dog friendly room had space between tables for dogs to lie down , and there was a Dog menu! Warm Sausage was served in little dog bowls, and the food was affordable for humans, too.
Great food, great choice, waiter excellent! Service very slow otherwise would have been 5stars.
Stayed for a couple of nights while working locally for a few days. Check in was from 6pm when the pub opens, a mobile number provided on the door was very helpful. Had a meal at the pub both nights, steak was lovely and even more so the minted Lamb shank from the specials menu. Staff were very welcoming and helpful even during peak hours. Pub and rooms are very dog friendly
Traditional country pub that offers accommodation, very good service, friendly welcoming staff & very dog friendly patrons. This pub has alot to offer, the menu is filled with traditional favourites all cooked to order, so piping hot when served. The atmosphere was a delight and the background music was outstandingly good really added to the whole experience. Fully recommended the Carpenters Arms for any occasion.
Went for a Sunday roast today. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were so friendly, efficient and hard working from start to finish. I will definately be going again and reccomending it to my friends and family. Had such a lovely experience.Service: 5/5

Went to the Carpenters Arms for a family roast this afternoon and absolutely could not fault it! Friendly service where nothing was too much trouble and excellent food! Would without a doubt recommend to everyone!Service: 5/5
Just popped in for a drink after walking in nightingale woods. Just sat in the garden with the dogs although the pub is dog friendly. Lovely staff and we had a nice bowl of cheesy chips too.Service: 5/5
