Perhaps I was just unlucky choosing the 3 taxi firms near Carnforth that I phoned late afternoon on Saturday 14th May 2016. This was the last that I chose to call before giving up entirely. I was trying to get a ride from Tewitsfield Marina into Carnforth. My call was answered by what must be the rudest and most offhand taxi service employee in the NW of England. Told me no cabs available, then asked me where I wanted to go. When told Carnforth he said "Nah can't do it until 11pm". What is it with Carnforth Taxi firms? Is there a dire shortage? Where I live in Corsham, Wiltshire which is a town smaller than Carnforth you can be virtually be assured of getting a cab within 15 minutes day or night.
