Cardiff airports greatest asset is its so quiet that check in and security are a breeze it’s a bit like flying from the outer Hebrides or Croydon airport in 1922nBut also it’s weakness as outside july and august theres not many flight choices to foreign climesnOnce in to departures there’s only a duty free shop WH Smith’s and one Bar/restaurantnSo probaly best to leave check till you have to as there’s not much to keep you amusednBadly needs a rail link it only 3 miles from the Vale of glamorgan line but this seems too hard for the plannersnSome of the Billion pound spent on the Core Valley lines and Cardiff bay should have been spent on a regular train or tram service to the airport
Great airport to travel from, plenty of things to find whilst you wait for the plane good selection of eateries at decent prices. Smooth check in and customs searches, simple and straight forward. Its definitely my choice airport just a shame they cant get more airlines involved.
Phenomenal. We stood at the end of the runway where we watched the planes coming into land. The noise from the Boeing 747 was incredible and absolutely amazing. There were a variety of smaller crafts passing overhead. Absolutely brilliant.
The airport was fine, but the parking was very confusing. It doesn't distinguish between long stay & short stay. Thus when taking folks to departures or picking them up at arrivals, you have no idea which car park to go to!
We had quite a good experience when flying out from Cardiff, but to wait nearly 25 minutes for the luggage carousel to start is ridiculous. Cardiff isn't a busy airport, perhaps there were two flights arriving today . How they will manage when other aircraft companies start flying out of here, I really don't know.
