Love studying here. Close to home. Touch down staff are amazing and so nice. I can have my breakfast, lunch without worrying. I can work for hours here especially at "Laud". I didnt like the new building so much. security is also great for late hours. It does close before 8 pm and its better if you let them know you are still there
I cannot describe how much of an expensive joke this institution is. I'm studying mechanical engineering first year with no specialty. My main three lectures are design which is assessed on your ability to do a technical drawing 30% of your grade and the ability to work in a “team”. The teams are rigid so you best be a good judge of character or you’ll get people who don’t show up or contributethis is worth 70%, mathematics two assessments; one a simple maths test and one using the software matlabs. I have 0 issue learning mathematics but the lecturer provides 0 context as to how this interfaces with engineering problems. My other lecture I find most funny; it’s electrical engineering. It feels to me that this is a filler and isn’t the “Basis” for engineering like people claim it is or that it is required by industry; we live in a world where we don’t need someone who’s “middle of the pack” at whatever discipline. You find someone who is ahead of the curve to do the job. So I don’t get any lecture or additional knowledge as to anything mechanical in the first semester; despite it being the exact course I signed up for. The CAD design lectures are a huge joke. They follow a set of YouTube tutorials you can find at home; for free. I feel all that we are taught isn’t useful knowledge instead just stuff to check off to get the degree. The degree I couldn’t care less about I came here for knowledge of mechanical systems shocking I know I will hopefully be dropping out soon. £5,500 out of pocket after the first month but such is life. It actually kills me to think this will be letting go of my dreams and ambitions but such is life.
I am a relatively new student a month in. I am studying mechanical engineering, I have a passion for mechanics. But this place really kills that drive. If you study any discipline of engineering, from biomedical to product design. I get that there is a core to engineering that all disciplines branch from. But one of the three modules is electrical engineering. It feels like it’s been put together with the attitude of oh it’s got engineering in it it’s relevant. To my knowledge there’s no one specialising in biomedical or mechanical; if they are they don’t give lectures. Also the mathematic lectures will go deep into equations with no context as to where or why. It feels like a joke; if it doesn’t pick up soon I will transfer out. A lot of people in my class have the same attitude. From first impressions I really wouldn’t recommend.
The university was okay for the Human Biology degree. However the university promised at the beginning to have connection with the Discovery Park for their graduates. We were the first graduate from this course. It opened new that time. However the university did not do their promises such as doing internship in Discovery Park. After graduation from this university it was terrible experience for me until I have the job. I found the job by myself. However still my friends who finished their education there was still difficult also to have better job without experience. The university should provide this guidance for graduates. I wrote to them but I did not get any response.
Feel like a welcomed part of the CCCU community when they fine me £70 just for parking. I’ve already paid them £30,000 + for this education so why not throw in another £70.
My Granddaughter would be a fresher and she appreciated the welcome she received while visiting the Uni with a view to applying. Very impressed.
Unfortunately London campus have a terrible contact with students. Feels like everything is late and messy. They are also not very responsive.
Brilliant! Our Course team are so welcoming. Thank you so much to BSc Public and Mental Health Promotion team.
What kind of university issues £70 parking fines to their own paying customers students amongst all of this cost of living crisis!
Just passed and was the worst experience of my life. Lectures were constantly cancelled and the teaching was beyond a disgrace. Should be shut down for incompetence. If I could give 0 stars I would.
