Great library with an impressive layout inside, there are silent areas, quiet areas, and group work areas. This library is open to the public during working day hours and has a cafe, 24h vending machines, free microwave, hot water and even showers. Loads of fantastic and relevant books. I feel proud to study here.
We had our daughters graduation held there. Fab building with modern and spacious. Staff were all helpful. Unfortunately we didn't get to see any books but the opening hours are very generous to allow late studies.
Within such a mighty establishment of knowledge lies the frivolous cells working in unison, unison aiming to achieve a higher purpose which is attained through the wooden paged pulp mixed with ink and memories. It is a transidental law that binds man to knowledge one that if broken decadence ensues. So to those frivolous cells working on creating the future, to you I hold the deepest of respects. Also no hot food allowed in the top floors.
Augustine House Library represents for me, one of the joys of being a student at Canterbury University. The facilities are excellent, the people are wonderful and everything is structured around effortless learning for students. There is a dedicated team constantly cleaning and sanitising the all areas and they all conduct themselves with a friendly and caring commitment as do the security staff. The systems for borrowing and printing are very clever as is the booking online service. I honestly don't spend as much time here as I would like and recommend to any student to make it a base throughout the study years.
After studying at CCCU for 7 years, this library makes it a pleasure to get through a project. Generally well-stocked, great facilities, nice staff, clean and modern. The cafe is also affordable and offers a decent spread, although could be better.
Augustine House Library is Christ Church University's most high profile site in Canterbury. An award winning modern university library, which is also open to the public.Brings to mind the concept of the panopticon.
