It’s hard to find good Palestinian food, so if you find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and stop at Cafe Palestina. The food is absolutely fantastic! Fresh, flavorful and made with love. I forgot the name of the eggplant dish with yogurt that we shared but I’d go back for that dish alone. Outstanding! The hospitality is incredible - such lovely owners. Don’t miss the shop in the back selling produce and other things from Palestine. Also appreciate the educational aspect with all the books & political statements I cannot wait to go back.
We had a really beautiful meal here on Saturday! The interior is really cute with a lot to look at and there’s a little area where you can buy fairtrade Palestinian products. I had the all day breakfast and was especially impressed with the moutabal. Will definitely be returning!
Great place to have food anytime! Fantastic and authentic atmosphere. Can purchase authentic and handmade products straight from Palestine.Food: 5/5
Great food and excellent service. Went there for the dinner club, where they have a set menu. The hummus and baba ghanoush as an appetizer were good, but the star was the ma'loubeh a Palestinian eggplant pilaf kind of dish. It's as good as the one my Palestinian grandmother would make. The portions are generous, and they ask if you would like seconds which as much as I would have liked to, I couldn't. They are gluten free friendly as well gluten free bread. The tables were spaced out, with screen between tables, so plenty of social distancing. The door was open and ventilation was good as well, without it being cold inside. My only complaint is that the olives they served with the appetizers weren't really good. They were cheaper supermarket olives. Considering how important olives are for Palestinians, I would have expected better.
I hate leaving a bad review, especially of independent places, but I was just so baffled and disappointed by my experience here. I am new to the area and was really excited to visit this place and I guess because of the good reviews I had high hopes. We arrived and the staff were friendly, we ordered the brunch for £15 and waited. The food took 20-25 minutes to arrive which might have been okay but other people who arrived before us were served first which is always a bit disappointing. I tried to put this to the back of my mind but then the food arrived. We were served a tray of 3 dips and two pieces of falafel. Shortly after two small dishes of halloumi arrived and a while after that some bread. We also had 2 small glasses of mint tea. The food was great which is why I am leaving 3 stars, the aubergine dip in particular was delicious. I was sort of expecting some more food but as the brunch isn’t explained anywhere we didn’t know what to expect. Eventually we just asked for the bill but this took so long my partner just went to the counter to pay. He was charged £36 despite the fact that it’s meant to be £15 per person and when he queried if this was right they confirmed it was. Not wanting to cause any trouble he just paid and left but I went back to check as I was thinking there had to be a mistake. They agreed that we had not received the brunch menu we had ordered or even the set breakfast menu and asked to give us some extra dishes as take away. We asked if we could please just have a refund for what we didn’t get but they seemed hesitant and confused. By this point I was just feeling disappointed and a bit ripped off to be honest. One staff member apologised and another was offering some money from the till which I appreciated but she wasn’t sure how much to give. I accepted £10 even though I’m sure it probably wasn’t enough but I felt bad taking money from a business. The whole experience was a massive let down, I’m still not sure about why that happened and it was probably a genuine mistake others seemed to be having a good time but I don’t think the way they dealt with it was acceptable at all, it just felt really awkward and like we were being treated as being in the wrong when actually we were probably charged more than double what we should have been.
Delicious food and amazing service!! You just can't go wrong. I went last week for the first time and I'm kicking my self for never trying this place before. Highly recommended!
Lovely little cafe, food is amazing i definitely will be returning for the brunch and the arabic coffee was gorgeous. Service isnt the best but the price and quality certainly makes up for it. Can only recommend.
Cafe Palestina - planned to visit on a Sunday morning but as it opens at 11am I missed trying it. Hopefully will pop in when I am in the area again.
I booked a table for two in advance as I was really excited to visit, but when we came we were ignored by the first member of staff. We had to be attended to by another member of staff and were seated in a tiny table squished between two other tables and I was very uncomfortable. The food service was SO slow...when our food came, it was very tasty but the bread was cold. I tried to order some more food whilst the waitress was near us to reduce the waiting time, she told us 'one sec' and never came back. Even when we asked for the bill to pay, the wait was so long we had to eventually get up and go to them to ask again. When we were ready to pay, they'd forgotten what we'd ordered and asked us to recite. The food was great and it's a really cute space with a prayer room too, I just wish the service had lived up to everything else.
Had a lovely lunch lamb and beans pot which tasted amazing. Their pastry is on another level like I don’t understand how they get the bread to be THAT soft!!
