What a little gem of a restaurant on a beautiful quiet street in Bloomsbury! Absolutely delicious frill-free food. The menu changes based on what's seasonally available, and everything we tried was exceptional. The flavours are finely balanced - everything just worked. Wonderful and helpful service too. Must come back to try more dishes!
We sat outside with our dog and had a lovely dinner. Food was great, large selection of wines, roast pork loin main was amazing but fried courgette starter and John Dory main felt overpriced for what we got. Staff was great, very helpful and even provided water for our dog.
An charming little neighborhood spot serving elevated yet comforting British food. The restaurant is quite small so book in advance but warm and brightly decorated, with a friendly and smiling staff and an ever-changing menu. The food was delicious from start to finish - the artichoke on toast, the salad, the mains were all fresh, seasonal, and expertly prepared with not a pinch of salt missing. The server made sure to bring bread along with every saucy dish for us to mop up all the tasty leftovers. The wine menu is surprisingly eclectic, and we had a gorgeous Spanish white wine that was recommended by the team. Possibly the best part of the meal was dessert - a perfect treacle tart with the surprising but necessary addition of lemon to cut through the sweetness; bit of cream on the side didn’t go amiss either. In short, spent a lovely evening here and am sure to come back and try the food in other seasons as well!
A really beautiful evening! We sat outside and had a lovely dinner full of the kind of food that you could make yourself but it wouldn’t be anywhere near as good if you did. I really recommend the antipasti dish and the aubergine spaghetti. It’s a wonderful feeling to be surprise by how absolutely delicious the first bite is. I look forward to returning.
Maybe a bit a harsh if I say it was the most boring food I’ve ever had. But I highly doubt other comments on “deliciousness”. The chicken was tender but not much flavour. The potatoes were quite bland and oily. And I just didn’t really understand the risotto, I could taste nothing but the bitterness from the lettuce and the cheese, or was it the point? The staff was friendly.
It’s a small jewel. The food is distinctively tasty and has a particular touch. And the wine selection and recommendations are also good. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it!
Simply a great place, good wine, lovely atmosphere, delicious food and an even better dessert… places like this really make us love London and food in London! :
Great food, delicious wine and a lovely atmosphere Best devilled egg I've ever had. Charcuterie was incredible too Lovely staff. Highly recommended
Great hearty cooking in a "Café" on steroids. Booking recommended and allow time for your meal. Menu changes weekly. Not cheap but worth the trip.
A* grade Lunch Had a lovely long lunch in the sun here. Food is honest, seasonal and wholly satisfying. The wine-list varied and the staff have great knowledge and can easily make a recommendation. Rhubarb ice cream a last minute add-on abs so glad we did. Service was a little patchy but it’s a new opening and these are strange socially distant times. I am sure this will improve, and I look forward to returning soon to confirm.
