This is an exceptional campsite.

The entrance is rather grand, with a broad gravel drive under ancient oak trees, located with an old country estate.

But as soon as you get in it's clear that it's really a very down to earth place with none of the haughtiness the grand entrance might suggest. 

The owners are warm and friendly, the buildings are discreet and well designed and there is loads of space for caravans and tents.

As well as the ancient trees in the surrounding forest, there are lines of young trees separating each area of the campsite.

Overall, it has a very relaxed and peaceful feel to it and I can't think of a better place to escape the stresses of the modern city.

I'll be back.
