Had a brilliant hens weekend. Entertainment was amazing. Food so so, best meal was breakfast. Only down point was we were the furthest block from meals and Entertainment and we were on top floor when I am disabled. Ended up renting a wheelchair. Overall it was an amazing weekend and can't wait to go back.
Butlins holiday with the family. Used to love going as a child.nStaff were fantastic, through and through. My boy has special needs and they did so well with this. Extension of thanks to the ocean hotel team who were brilliant.nEntertainment: rather loud, but very good variety, in different venues, my boy really enjoyed the shows which was great, just bring ear defenders if your child has sensory issues.nnVenue: unfortunately away from the hotel, the venue was under a lot of construction. Things in the main tent are run down and it shows. Toilets, rides, even places to sit all look like they have seen better days,,but the new pool and other buildings look great.nnFood: we did the hotel dining, and it really was disgusting, less said the better.nnThe site: a lot of walking! Especially now they have split the theme park up!nnOverview: staff were amazing, shows were good, for the age of my boy 5, hotel was lovely, food wasn't. Tent facilities needs some serious TLC
Went to celebrate my birthday at this establishment. To save time and make my review easy to read, I shall sum things up in bullet points.nnCleaniness: 2/5- as someone who has a phobia and deep hatred for germs, Butlins tested this to the max. Tables were sticky, there was broccoli in the bed next to mine, stains from people who had stayed in the apartment before us, windows were smeared with cleaning gunk.. not a pretty sight to see! Glasses were questionable, some having a smell.nnActivities- 4/5- LOVED the Waltzers, fairground, arcade, tech golf and climbing areas. They were worth tokens and enjoyed this the most, staff were friendly too :nnFood- ?/5- depends where you went.. Coast's food was okay, like a school dinner.. it did the bare minimum but was bland in aspects so 3/5. The beachcomber inns offer for £1 and food was INCREDIBLE
Won't be coming back. We stayed in one of the hotels. Our group were supposed to have rooms next to each other, which they even confirmed would be the case prior to arrival - didn't happen.nStuff kept braking in the rooms, major ant problem - which they knew about yet didn't clean the room/empty bins the next day. Rest of resort apart from the new additions really run down. In fact some of their processes cause items to fail quicker. Dinner offering for kids every night was pizza and chips who wants the same thing every night?.nDon't even get me started on the ridiculous tokens system which is done for their benefit not yours. Can't use them to upgrade things in the activities and can only use them on new ones. Easy to overbuy them, they won't refund them if you do. We made a point of trying to use ours up as we decided day 1 this is our last visit.nNext year another holiday company will get our money. We're done.
We attended the big weekender on the 20-23 June this year. All 9 of us had a fantastic time, great acts, and so much to do. The staff were amazing, especially the security staff, one in particularTaylor, she was extremely professional, friendly, and always there to help. Her people skills are phenomenal. She deserves a raise or promotion. What a legend. Everyone we met spoke highly of her.
