Lovely little place but motorhomes not allowed in to carpark. WHAT A SURPRISE ..
This truly was a hidden gem. One of the best parts of our trip in Scotland . We came at a time with no other tourists at all. It’s quite a sleepy town if you catch it at the right time but part of the Highland Games are held here . Heated indoor pools, drinks , amazing food .. and a secret beach. Most locals around bigger towns had never heard of it . I wonder how they stay so hidden with a train station right there too..
This station has the potential to be good, but it just isn't. There's only a ramped exit/entry to the Edinburgh platform. So if you get off a train from Edinburgh or are travelling to the north, there are only stairs. This is a bit stupid, as buggies and wheelchairs can only use one platform ? I'd say that's sort of discrimination. Also, you'd think there would be toilets but there isn't. The ticket office is never really open. It has weird opening times like 06:51-07:51 or something. The information screen on the Edinburgh platforms is always broken.
Burnt Island railway station has a rampand stairs access to platform. There is some free parking at the old station booking office. Toilet facilities at this Covid time consist of a portaloo outside main building.
Extremely goodstation frequent service and even though it's a bit used it's got flowerrs and stuff Very good and it even got a tunnel , which is news
