The Wine Bar in Kendall is an excellent place to visit on a trip to the Lake District, it’s kind of out of the way down a side street, we would not have walked past it if we didn’t do a TripAdvisor search for the best places to eat in Kendall. We were so glad we went there and will surely be back on our next trip to the lakes. The place is just beautiful, we went on a lovely sunny day and went to eat on their outdoor terrace, it’s such a beautiful place to sit and have a meal, tranquil and really well decorated, the staff even brought us out some cushions. We had a Sunday roast and some beers and everything was top notch, the roast itself was done to perfection and was very reasonably priced, the meat was particularly good. I would highly recommend the Wine Bar, it’s such a lovely place to visit and all the staff were so kind and welcoming, we will definitely be back again.
Friendly place, good central location, reasonable prices, good menu for food and drinks, dogs welcome, beer garden, comfy and relaxing atmosphere.
Nice place to visit for a nice pint of cider and a bite to eat. Really good sharing platter and a good choice of wine.
Always a nice welcoming atmosphere - good for a quite drink midweek or a busier, livelier vibe at the weekend. Not pretentious. Good selection of wines and spirits, plus despite the name it also has a good range of beers on tap. Would recommend.
Booked for a meal with friends for our usual Christmas get together, no hot food, so we ordered a ploughman's platter, they couldn't even do that, so ended up with a 3 cheese platter . Not a happy customer. Over to you wine bar, own up to your pore service, should have gone to McDonald's
Terrible service for a works Christmas party. We came as a party of 12 and are aware it's not much of an establishment for food as such, but thought it would be better than it was. We had to ask 4 times for cutlery, by which point most people had already given up and eaten their salad with their hands anyway as everything was going cold! One of the staff dealing with the food payment almost overcharged a colleague of mine, and although it wasn't by much her reaction to being told about the problem was very unprofessional. She looked very angry that he'd made a fuss about it... Though it was her in the wrong. Drinks weren't terribly overpriced, but it was difficult to get a drink with only a few trained staff and the rest trainees not knowing what drinks were what when asking for a whiskey. TLDR: Don't go for food as a large group. It's not an establishment for food.
Very nice bar however the girl behind the bar Rachael? shouldn’t be working behind a bar if she can’t smile and be polite. When the bar was busy with people waiting, emptying the glass washer seem more important that serving!!
We visited as a group of Christmas Eve Eve for a few drinks and it was packed with a great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit on a night out in Kendal and also situated in an interesting part of the town
Great people, great value, a lovely space and really good food and choice of wines and beers. We arranged a gathering and they were able to accommodate us in every aspect and make sure that everything ran smoothly and that we had an amazing time. Thanks to all concerned. Cannot say enough positives about this wine bar and would highly recommend.
Stumbled across this hidden gem whilst visiting the Lake District, well worth a visit. Great setting with absolutely lovely people working there. The various wine and platter deals are excellent.
