Good variety of food for a buffet. I have been visiting this place since 2017 and it is lovely to see that the interiors have been upgraded along with the Menu. Good value for money in terms of the quality of food. It’s an all you can eat buffet and the location is very family friendly. Although staff are not that friendly - something that has not improved at all over the years! Make sure to make a booking beforehand as it can get busy sometimes!
Despite seeing the poor reviews, I decided to give this place a try. First impression is that the staff were contempt but reasonably polite. Was shown to our table and given our drinks. I knew that this was a buffet and I did not expect anything special. There was a decent selection of food and I tried a little of each. Whilst the food was not mind blowing, some of it was not bad at all. The roast duck was pretty good as was the lemon chicken. The down side was that the noodles were over cooked a little mushy and the crispy seaweed rather chewy. The food needed to be replenished at times and the desserts also needed some improvement. All in all I paid £14 for all you can eat and I would say that was adequate. I was only looking for a quick meal and I got it. If Buffet City work on their improvements, I would say they have a chance in doing better.
Great, delicious, full of flavour Chinese. Buffet City is a nice, family friendly restaurant with a really good service. ***UPDATE! *** Gave a 5 stars at first BUUUUUUT we were RIPPED OFF! When paying I was told my 8 year old son and 10 year old daughter were above 140cm height, so we had to pay full rather than kids portion for both of them. I didn't have a measure with me cause who carries it in their purse!!! to prove they're wrong and they apparently have something on the wall that's 140cm. So went with it and paid a ridiculous price! Got home, measured my kids and it turned out they're both under 140! My advice, bring your tape measure with you and don't let them rip you off.
Really truly sorry to say this, but 2 years ago it would have got 5 stars. Not now. It used to be very good food. Big choice. Excellent value. Now, the food was warm, the choice was much smaller, and the quality wasn't excellent like it used to be. I will go back maybe in a years time to see if it's any better but not now. The parking was good, the staff were nice helpful and friendly. The whole place was clean. The carlsburge was nice and cold, the Bailey's Irish cream didn't look or taste like the Bailey's that I have at home though.
It is a good place for the price. Very tidy and the waitress are always there for clean up after you The quality of the food it is ok. The interior area is nice It is a good place for go once and enjoy with friends.
Not been for a few years. Pleased to see it’s been updated inside. Food was lovely and member of staff on entrance was polite friendly and explained the drinks. Staff cleaning tables were prompt. We were so impressed we even left a tip. Some deserts could be improved but over all happy to recommend and will definitely be returning.
Staff is always very welcoming and give excellent customer service. Also, food is always great, so Many choices! My loved ones And myself are regular customers since we moved to Plymouth in 2015. Never disappointed, always great experience there. Thanks for THEIR hard work
Honestly, went here yesterday's for my birthday and I was blown away with how lovely it was. Staff were attentive but not over powering, no pressure to buy additional drinks, they were more than happy to provide a jug of water for the table. The food was delicious, continuously being refreshed, would highly recommend, enjoy
This restaurant has amazing staying power. You’ve gotta be impressed. It’s seen off all the competition. Over the last couple of years. It’s a nice relaxed venue. Food’s always well cooked. Always replenished. Only criticism would be maybe change it up a little. But I also acknowledge this could ruin it’s obvious success?! We go every so often. Just for the duck and prawns. Kid-friendliness: They have a fantastic sweet section. Kids love it. Wheelchair accessibility: There’s a disabled toilet and it’s quite a large area. So ok for wheel chairs.
I always come here when shopping in Plymouth. Felt the variety of food has decreased over the years, with not a huge choice for vegetarians. Saying that, never had a bad meal and always leave with full bellies! Service is top notch and cannot be faulted either.Food: 4/5
