Friendly girl, although didn't fill me with confidence that she'd been trained very well. I asked about how much coffee was in the medium/ large as I like my coffee on the stronger side, and she mentioned volume rather than shots. The coffee itself was very weak, slightly bitter tasting as if the machine hasn't been cleaned properly in a while. And served too hot. Not how coffee should be served.

Great little coffee shop. Friendly staff members. The shop is very clean and well organised. Coffee is fantastic, they also offer soya and lactose free alternatives for the select few customers that have dairy allergies. I don't just rate buffers above station cafes, I rate it above fully fledged coffee shops also! 😁☕️

I was surprised to see the negative review about Buffers Coffee Shop, because in my experience, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the products they serve are really good quality. The cafe has a nice atmosphere, which is often lacking in other station cafes, and I think it is because they serve the community and not just travellers. This is reflected on their Facebook page, which not only shows how much pride the owners have in their business, but how committed they are to St Austell, and the rest of the county. I have only been a few times to the cafe, because I am usually passing through, but when I do go, it is refreshing to see a small business rather than a chain at the station, charging fair prices for good quality food and drinks. Keep it up, Buffers :-)

Trained barista's who work extremely hard and serve customers as quickly as possible. Always polite considering quite a few customers decide to be rude. All three members of staff completely capable and very friendly. And most of all, damn good coffee and hot chocolate.
