We were so pleased to return to the Bucks Head after many years of absence.nnSunday lunch was very good. Roast pork belly was perfect as was the rich gravy that accompanied it. My dining guest's roast beef was a little underdone for her taste but I happily finished off the rarer parts and these were perfectly done for me.nnSo pleased we have another venue serving good, hearty food in the town again.nnWe will return in the near future.
Recently under new management, super friendly owners who are doing good things with the pub. We didn’t eat main meals but the landlord was cooking up some lovely pizzas on an outdoor wood fired oven. We had a quick snack of cheese & onion roll and sausage roll - both very tasty. Nice to chat to locals in the pub who are now returning since the new management have started. Decent beer and nice vibe.
On our way back through town after a walk in the hills we stopped by this pub for a drink. Usual range of drinks, dartboard and beer garden. All could do with a little love and attention but staff were pleasant and friendly. Can’t fault it for a pint. They even had a telly with the euros on.
Absolutely beautiful place, the owners are so polite as well as the staff, I stayed here a night and the bedrooms are absolutely spot on and the bathroom is also lovely, both bathroom and bedroom are clean. Breakfast was nice. I'd recommend this place to anyone, please note if you see bad comments that's from the previous owner as under new management . I can't comment on old management as it was my 1st time staying Sunday night.nnWent here Sunday 12th of may 2024, the Sunday lunch was absolutely spot on . I'd definitely recommend the Belly Pork the crackling was absolutely amazing and the meat was delicious it wasn't tough
Had the steak and ale pie with chips and gravy. Came in a small plastic basket with a small tub of gravy, you cannot pour this on or over your meal because your meal is in a basket not on a plate, nothing to shout about pie was lovely but the chips a little hard and greasie from the oil used.
