First class food, first class service . Had the brie to start and sauteed chicken for the main with a lovely pint of Rockshore to wash it down. Great, cosy, inviting atmosphere and fantastic table service. Large portion sizes left me stuffed and I'm an eater good show! Will be back
Didn't want the formality of restaurant dining, so opted for lunch in the lounge bar. The setting was warm and comfortable, if you don't mind horse racing on the big screen TV. Service was good and the menu adequate. I opted for the chicken stack with a side of skinny fries and my partner the 10oz sirloin with garlic potatoes. The portions were excellent and the food was of a good quality. My partners eyes were bigger than her tummy and couldn't finish hers, so you'll be glad to hear they will box up what you don't eat so you can take it home. I soldiered on and decided on dessert, for which I chose lemon cheesecake with ice cream, however, the waiter was distracted and I got fresh cream which at the end of the day I didn't mind, so no complaints, and it was beautiful served with fresh berries and honeycomb. Together with a large glass of wine for the lady and a pint of coke the bill came to a little over £60. Hadn't been here in years, but would recommend it for a lazy lunch followed by a few bevvies for those who want to make an afternoon of it.
Had a beautiful meal here tonight. Staff were fantastic. Made to feel very welcome and our food was delicious. Hadn’t been for a very long time but looking forward to going back very soon.
First time back here in 5 years. The ambience is not great tbh with decor that seems to date from the 70s. I hear Retro is the new fad though, so I suppose that will be trendy soon enough. On a Saturday it definately attracted an older crowd and many were clearly regulars as were known to the staff. Nothing dated about the food. There was a good choice on the menu, and it was really, really good. Decent portions and beautifully cooked. At least 2 of these 4 Stars goes to the kirchen. Staff were professional and friendly too!
Enjoy a fabulous boxing day with the family 19 of us , we couldn't ask for better service. Staff so friendly nothing was too much bother . All our meals arrive same Cocktails tasted amazing. Thanks everyone Kid-friendliness: Our kids had a great time Parking: Lots of parking available on different levels
Lovely place, enjoyed a lunch with friends. However, while ordering a dish make sure to ask how it will be prepared, especially ingredients. Some dishes are modified and may not be served in the same way that the other places do. It is making a dish more interesting but may also be of a little surprise. Place lovely, recommended.Food: 5/5
Very enjoyable 3 course meal for three in nice surroundings. 2 starters of garlic mushrooms and 1 pate, mains were lamb special, cod special and a chowder. Bottle of red, a strawberry sundae, a chocolate sundae, double espresso and a latte, £102. Thought that wasn't bad. Vegetarian options: A decent choice. Parking: Plenty of parking spaces, never have had a problem parking here. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp, wide doors. Good access.
Was out last night with my sister. Got 2 meals the portions wouldn't even fill a hole in your took. 2 meals 35 quid without any drinks etc. I've been to many restaurants around the world and this has been the smallest I've ever had.....
We had our wedding here yesterday. The staff went above and beyond. They did have a funeral booked in at the same day as our wedding which we did panic but they professionally dealt with that and didnt let us down one bit. They decorated the function room for us and made sure they had our favourite cocktails on hand. Our day went without a hitch. Food was fantastic. Definitely recommend x
Fantastic meal out for my sons birthday. Food was delicious and service was quick. Would recommend!
