My friend and I had lunch there. Very pleasant and helpful staff and lovely meal. One point...I am disabled and we couldn't find disabled access. It would be SO useful if one of the steps into the hotel/restaurant wasn't steps! Or at least had a railing to hold on to. Otherwise recommended. And a lovely site. PS both bar and restaurant dog friendly! We will definitely be back.
This was my first time going to the restaurant. Nicely decorated.nFantastic building.nExcellent view.nThe menu is moderately priced.nService was good.nThey have daily specials and even senior meals.nThe pub looked friendly and welcoming.nThere is also a comfy lounge for winter.
My solo journey to Broomhall Castle Hotel turned out to be an unforgettable escapade, filled with warmth, history, and unexpected kindness. From the moment I stepped foot in the hotel, I knew I was in for something special.nAs a solo traveler, I often seek places that offer both comfort and character, and Broomhall Castle exceeded all my expectations. The ambiance was enchanting, transporting me back in time while still providing all the modern comforts I could desire.nThe staff at Broomhall Castle were the epitome of hospitality, making me feel like an honored guest from the moment I arrived. One particular moment stands out among the rest: on my first morning, I found myself stranded without a taxi to take me to the Wallace Monument. Just as I was beginning to worry, the owner herself appeared, offering me a ride in her own car. Her kindness and genuine concern for my well-being left a lasting impression on me, and it's a gesture I'll never forget.nMy room was a cozy haven, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. I spent my days wandering the castle, Stirling, the village of Menstrie, and the nearby hiking trails in the hills soaking in the rich history and tranquil atmosphere. The evenings were spent dining in the elegant restaurant, savoring delicious meals crafted with care, and having a few pints with some of the locals.nBroomhall Castle Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience in itself. For any solo traveler seeking a blend of adventure and relaxation, I wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem in Menstrie. Thank you to the staff and the owner for making my stay truly unforgettable. I can't wait to return and create more cherished memories in this magical setting.
DISAPPOINTING. Don’t fall for the ‘Castle’ hotel and go elsewhere. The owners clearly don’t want to invest in the property and therefore its patrons. Everything is tired or more appropriately exhausted. The lift didn’t work, the carpets tired, large rooms sparsely furnished. Grubby sofa in room 18, that had visible padding in the seated area to avoid sinking. No bench for tea and coffee, instead a kettle put right next to the TV with the worst effort or a drink tray. The shower in both rooms we stayed in, had faulty temperature controls and was a scolding hot trickle of water. This building and stay has so much potential however, it just looks like a care home, with its out of place glass security doors partitioning parts of the corridors. Poor kitchen service due to lack of staff, pool room was a joke with a broken table, no space to play and 2 of the 4 cues missing a tip. I think one hairdryer to be asked for on request and shared among the rooms. Clothes left in the draws of my room. I could go on. It’s just overall RUBBISH. If you’ve booked…cancel and go elsewhere. Staff super friendly on arrival. On leaving, didn’t even look up from her phone.
What a fabulous find! We booked a twin room the night before the stay. I was worried it would be damp and cold but the room was spectacular. So spacious, clean and warm with lovely view. The guest WiFi was best we have found in the UK. The restaurant was great too, spacious and good menu. Busy for a weeknight so you may want to pre book. Staff were fantastic and helped with luggage and super friendly. We were sad to leave so soon.
