Great location for a wedding and weather permitting can be held outside which makes the day even more special. Ceremony was amazing and the food on the day top quality. Staff were amazing and so helpful and couldn't do enough for all the guests Chef looked after the bride and bridesmaids on the morning of the big day. The rooms were nicely decorated, although the shower is not really strong enough. All in all a fantastic experience and a big thank you from us
What a hidden gem. Lovely welcome, beautiful room with great facilities, and the setting was so peaceful & grounds great to explore Dog friendly too. Breakfast was superb in terms of both food & service thank you Gary. We also booked lunch with friends who live locally. Service was excellent & food yet again sublime. Very highly recommended
Stayed overnight after a wedding in a suite, room was tidy, with plenty of mirrors, light well and an AC which made up for lack of windows in the room. Waterfall shower was much appreciated in the morning. Staff were pleasant and supportive throughout the event. Well kept, beautiful main garden, perfect for special occasions! Would gladly recommend and stay again Rooms: Tidy, good bathroom facilities, air conditioner, bed not the most comfortable, but did the job Food & drinks: English breakfast was a slight let down, didn't try continental on offer
I can not recommend this hotel enough! Myself and my husband came for 1 night and we was blown away! We travel a lot and this is easy one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in! Super affordable too! The standard of cleanliness was 10/10 the bed was super comfortable and even had extra pillows in the wardrobe if required, we had a spa bath big enough for the both of us and it was really relaxing! The room was like an apartment, tv and a of worked fast and efficiently, very well furnished and superrrr clean! We even got a free cookie at check in
Stayed for 2 nights for my best friends wedding. The staff are all so attentive, every single one of them, they are a total credit to the hotel. Big call out to Eddie, not only is he professional, super helpful and attentive, he works extremely hard to make sure everyone has what they need, whilst he’s simultaneously cleaning and serving! Food is really nice, and prices are reasonable. Grounds are lovely and relaxing, oh and the spa bath was fabulous. Would highly recommend. Food & drinks: Breakfast was a buffet, the food was hot and replenished frequently. I don’t eat meat but the sausages looked really nice, poached eggs were well cooked. We each had a starter in the evening, homemade soup, king prawns, and pate all delicious. We also had side of garlic bread and chips, again delicious and huge portions. Wedding food was hot and tasty!
A lovely hotel with nice grounds. We held a wake here after a funeral and the spread and drinks were superb. Also catered for two Coeliac guests. Friendly and efficient staff. Very happy and would highly recommend.Rooms: 5/5
I had my wedding here last weekend and I could not compliment the hotel staff, Eddie, Debbie and Gary for making such an incredible day. Words cannot come to mind of how perfect everything was. The grounds, the flowers, the staff, the food, the atmosphere. Absolutely incredible. Thank you all so much, particularly Eddie who could not do enough for me, treated me like a queen, Debbie who ran round all over the wedding day, constantly checked everything was in order and Gary for serving delicious food and just being an absolute gem. Thank you all so much, you gave me the best memory to look back on.
What a fantastic find! This hotel is a Little gem. Amazing staff especially Eddie the bar man. Got to meet the owner she was absolutely lovely. The rooms were amazing. The food was excellent and the chef was very accommodating. A family run hotel with a great atmosphere and great staff. Keep up the excellent work. I cannot fault this place. Rooms: A little dark but I loved the vintage vibe as it was in keeping with the hotel. Dark corridors also in keeping with the rooms. If you want contemporary modern decor then it's not for you. But to have a king size bed with a large chair loads of space 2 wardrobes. Decent wifi and a Jacuzzi bath not Jacuzzi shaped just the jets. Was so nice to relax in the bath after a long day at the zoo. Food & drinks: Chef made poached eggs and crispy bacon which was not on the menu as I no longer eat bread. Drinks are well priced and mixed very well by the resident barman Eddie Noteworthy details: Tournament Pool table with tournament queues. Darts board with chess and various board games for evening entertainment. Lovely log burner with a romantic setting if you just want to chill and have a drink near the bar.
An interesting hotel with a friendly welcome. All of the staff were friendly and helpful but there didn't seem to be enough of them available in the morning, the same guy served breakfast and probably cooked it while he was also the only one available to complete my checkout ... The room was clean and comfortable if a bit dated but everything worked and the shower was good and hot .. My evening meal was OK but not great while the breakfast was really good. I would stay here again but I'll probably try somewhere else first if I ever need to stay in the area again
Absolutely beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds. All of the staff we encountered were lovely, Ellen on reception was so helpful before and during our stay. Eddie ? on the bar and the chef French guy, didn’t catch his name were lovely too. Nothing was any trouble. We booked two rooms, both were gorgeous - my parents had one with just a sky-light, a window would have been nice, but we were only in at night really. Huge bath in our room too. Breakfasts were superb, cooked fresh to our requirements. Couldn’t find a fault with this hotel, will definitely return.
