I went in this afternoon to look for a present for a friend who's celebrating a birthday soon. I chose a body care set which I thought was very nicely packaged and was a great value for money. I took it to the till and the staff member grabbed the item with force and ripped the packaging. I wasn't sure what happened and asked if it was ripped before paying and said that it was somebody's birthday present and I didn't want it to be defective so I'd just leave it if it ripped. The other staff member glanced at the item and they both reassured me that it was fine. I paid for the item and as soon as they gave it back to me I realised that the box was was fully ripped. I said I was sorry but I couldn't keep it as it was for somebody's birthday and I wanted the box to look nice. They both looked at each other and discussed the fact that they now had to go get someone who can process the refund. Nothing was said to me during this time or after another staff member came to sort it out. They completely ignored me the whole time even after I thanked them and said goodbye, they didn't say anything back. I walked out feeling small, ashamed, and never wanting to return to the shop again.
Love this charity, plenty to choose from and staff very friendly as well. I had a dilemma and they were able to help me out on the spot. That is such a rarity to see such kindness. Can’t wait to be back to browse again soon.
What a joke this branch is supposed to pick up goods from my home but never showed up when I rang the shop ...was told drivers couldn't find my address because it was...A BUILDING!! Been donating to bhf for years but won't do so again.
