I enjoyed a series of evening time laned training swims at this lovely pool whilst staying in Bristol recently. Facilities seem well maintained and staff could not have been more welcoming. The box of goodies kickboards, pull buoys and paddles etc. for swimmers to make use of was a real bonus!
Customer service is a zero. They don’t answer the phone. The website doesn’t work half of the time. Tried business chat on messenger to both the South Bristol and Everyone active pages and got no response from either. They have no email address advertised. On site they’re mostly unhelpful. Lockers only work with obsolete coins. I could go on but I’m boring enough as it is
It’s a beautiful old building, it was even featured in “Accidentally Wes Anderson” and I love that the changing rooms are so close to the pool. The water is always nice and warm for the children too. But that’s where the good things end really. On the whole, the entire place is REALLY dirty. I don’t think it’s cleaned very often as even in the early morning sessions the baby change units are dirty and there is hair in the showers. The showers really need privacy as well. I don’t like that they are open right onto the pool. Feels like you’re on display. The buzzer for the accessible door is also never answered because they never have enough staff so there is rarely someone manning reception.
Old fashioned public swimming pool. The prices are reasonable but there’s a reason. There are no private showers and only two working female showers directly on the poolside. Lanes are very busy and poorly managed. The overall hygiene of the place feels lacking. Not a place for a relaxing swim but more a very functional one without being able to properly shower afterwards
Solid pool with the essentials. They've got a pretty good schedule for me as well - we will sometimes bring our kids here for a swim, and the pool provides a few pool toys like noodles and small platforms.
