Very welcoming happy staff make you feel at ease from the moment you enter. Very busy but still find time to talk and more importantly listen. The service can be a bit slow at busy times. The food is very good but not restaurant class. Portions are a bit on the small size off the menu but the carvery on Sundays is excellent in all aspects as is the breakfast. Menu prices are a little bit high but between the hours of 12 pm to 6pm there is a £5 special,this this is quite a selection of main menu dishes exactly the same quantity and quality as the main menu so you pay £5 before 6pm and around £16 after 6pm. By the way, the Sunday carvery / buffet and the breakfast served every day is all you can eat and I think there is a kids eat free breakfast with paying adults. I stayed at the Premier Inn for a while part of the same company, Whitbread the restaurant was accessible from inside the hotel and I used it many times and had virtually everything on offer give or take a few that I would never eat because I don’t like them. One last things, I found the bar drinks too pricey even the special offers and promotions were still on the high side so it’s not really a place for a drinkers night out but you can put up with the price of a couple of drinks while dining.
Food really nice. There was a 40 minute wait & we was made aware of this when we ordered. Lady Supervisor / manager went above & beyond was super helpful with a small request we had. Thanks to all the efficient staff.
So we will start with what was bad first...nOn arrival in the area seated there was peas under the table and crumbs all over the seats. The music kept cutting on and off. Now the food, I ordered the Veggie Pizza, it was bland, mushrooms were not nice and the pizza bread was chewy and crunchy in the wrong areas, overall I could of made this at home for a much cheaper price much better. My Pregnant Girlfriend had the Mixed Grill she did not like the size of the Steak, we asked the Fred to ask the chef to not put peas on the plate, but there was peas on the plate, so failed communcation. The refillable drink of lemonade taste flat. Now what was good my girlfriend enjoyed the taste of all the meat and eggs. My Vegan burger was delicious and the chips are better than wetherspoons. The staff are lovely and accomdating however I felt rushed and pushed to do a review here before I had even eaten, I would almost call it annoying how many times he came up to ask about doing the review. The price for some items does not match the taste. The staff seems disorganised In summary I would come here again my girlfriend enjoyed her meal, i would not order pizza again being a vegetarian having limited choice it was still accommodating.
We booked for 18:00 the building was tidy and clean nothing wrong there.nnFood was alright I had a sirloin I wanted it medium rare came out chips were warm the steak was medium in the middle and rare at the sides so maybe was rushed to be cooked.nnWife ordered the Korean burger which looked burnt but the wife said it was ok chips were fine.nnOverall a 3 is a fair rating if you want quick grub and a few drinks.nnUnfortunately wouldn't go back one and done to see what the place was like.
Had to queue up for 15 minutes to.place my food and drinks orders as there was only 1 person serving. Queue was right by the door so people where having issues getting past and into the restaurant. Had to wait 10 minutes fir simeone to come and serve the carvery.The carvery Turkey was cold, potatoes cold and the turkey was crumbly and served in broken pieces and tasted salty. The vegetables weren't fresh and where luke warm and dry. A Drink ordered lime & lemonadewas revolting took it back to complain where I was told the lemonade syrup may have gone, I gave it back and asked to swop it for a cup of tea instead and I was made to pay the difference of £1.20 rude. Ordered a Haddock and chips off the menu and was brought out fries which aren't chips and where dry brown and of unsatisfactory quality so couldn't be eaten. Don't advertise chips on the menu and bring out French fries which DO NOT GO with fish and wasn't what we ordered or paid for. Overall a VERY DISAPPOINTING first time visit. Definitely won't be recommending it.
