I have always ventured out to London to find a fine dinning restaurant until I found out about this gem in our little Medway town of Rochester! After months of attempting to find the right date, my gf and I booked a reservation. From the welcome at the entrance to the seating, it was refreshing! Our servers were friendly, attentive, accommodating and prompt. The way they communicated with us, one would think we've known each other for a minute! The servers were also quite knowledgeable on the dishes and the drinks and gave great recommendations! Not one of them was lacking in their service! My friend and I felt very comfortable throughout. The portion sizes were perfect, the dishes were delightfully palatable, euphoric even! It was a perfect night out! I cannot wait to take more of my friends back to experience this gem! Update: I have revisited this place twice since my first review and it's still the same and I still love it!
Absolutely amazing. Couldn't fault it at all. Service was great. Food was to die for. The lobster was fantastic, steak cooked to perfection and I havent had chips so good in a long time. So good we had to squeeze in a pudding and coffee. Bang goes the diet but, it was so worth it. Wouldn't hesitate to go back. You have to visit Brettington's. You'll be blown away.
Nice staff, attentive, portions were good, however my personal experience was not great. I had the 1/2 lobster and it was awful, felt like it was taken from and old freezer, defrosted and served. No flavour and really dry and certainly not worth the £26 I paid for it. My girlfriend had the chicken which was lovely. All in all I would not visit here again as for the price, its simply not worth it.
Starters were fantastic and served quickly. Waited a while for main which we didn't mind but then they arrived! Everything drowned in salt, needed to go to waitress to get glasses of water. Service was then slow and had 3 or 4 different servers. £70 steak was very over cooked - they said that's how we asked for it. We didn't. Disappointed that a steakhouse can't cook steak. Nice as a one off treat family birthday but wouldn't return.
The staff are superb at Brettington's; they are probably the most *genuinely* friendly bunch of people we've ever met, especially the brown haired girl and red haired guy. We all had steaks, which come with chips and salad as standard. The ribeyes 12oz for £35 were very nice - juicy and tender, and were cooked to the requested medium-rare but maybe a touch too much towards medium. The 48oz cote de boeuf at £70 was good, but was a tad dry. Chips were very crisp and crunchy. Didn't eat the salad. Sweet potato chips were a little too spicy for me. Desserts looked photogenic and tasted fab; icecream was really good! A rare beefy gem outside of the City, with a huge variety on the menu. 7/10 would visit again.
Huge variety on the menu making it very difficult to decide what to have! Pricey but worth every penny. Definitely a must go to if you love steak but still plenty of choices for if it's not your preference. Vast drinks menu too including cocktails which always go down a treat. Was my second time here and will definitely be back again for a special treat night out!
Great date night. The food was amazing as always. Staff were fantastic, our waitress was helpful, funny and enthusiastic. Really great service. Great value for money. Totally recommend, you wont be disapointed.
Absolutely top notch!!! Service was on point and the food was perfectly cooked. The scottish scallops were divine, i had the sirloin med rare perfect and the half baked lobster I had on the side was amazing! Even the steak cut chips were morish! The waitress recommended dishes and cocktails which were all superb and I had the lemon pie for desert, just writing this I could eat it all again!!!
One of our favourite restaurants, the food is always amazing and the service is great. We went last night for our first wedding anniversary and it was better than ever and our waiter was so lovely too. Can’t wait to go back again. Thank you
The staff are my absolute favourite. The service is second to none and truly awesome. I have dined once before and really enjoyed the food but on this occasion dining with a friend, it was not up to standard or worth the money. The prawns had no taste as if they came from a frozen packet. My friend's steak was returned twice and the fries tasted like they were from frozen and overcooked. I was so disappointed after singing their praises.
