Only getting 1 Star because I can’t put a review otherwise!!nnPlease if you have the choice do not send your family members here.nnThe lack of care and facilities is ridiculous. My poor mother didn’t even last 3 weeks in there before she ‘apparently’ fell out of bed.nnShe was taken to hospital and unfortunately died a short time later. One of the causes of her death was a UTI which the care home failed to get her checked from a doctor after me and my family repeatedly stating that something is wrong.nnI’ve heard carers in there speaking under there breath about annoying patients and saying “ if he doesn’t shut up I’m going to punch him” im sorry but if you don’t like your job then get a career elsewhere. These are peoples loved ones who we are supposed to trust you taking care of.nnTo top it all off. After my mother’s unfortunate passing. We faced the difficult task of collecting her items. After checking everything we noticed her fire stick was missing which was plugged in her television the whole time. After raising this with the manager. All she said was “ the item wasn’t declared so we have no idea where it is”nnWe did declare it. It was stolen by your staff members.nnPlease don’t let your loved ones here because I truly believe if my mum didn’t get sent there. She would be with us today.
My dear Mum spent 6 years in Braeside & I can honestly say she was very well cared for & loved by the brilliant staff.nI always felt involved in any decisions about her care especially during the last few months when she was on palative care.nAll the staff are genuine, dedicated, lovely, hard working people who also became very supportive to myself especially towards the end of my Mums long battle with dementia.nI thank you All so much for looking after both of us xxx
A close family member was move here from hospital and we were horrified at the lack of care and facilities in this place, the first few times when we came to visit we couldn’t get in, there were residents left downstairs on their own who couldn’t open the door but said the 2 staff working were probably upstairs ! Try his turned out to be true, the food at evening meal time was a saucer of carrot and tuna with gravy on it, that was it. A number of patients regularly didn’t get their medications due to them not being ordered from the chemist or no nurse on, I could go on all day about this disgusting care home but we have submitted a report to the authorities on it, please if you get the choice don’t let any of your family or friends near this place
I can’t thank the staff enough at Braeside for all they are doing for my mum at this very difficult time. Their kindness, understanding and compassion are a true blessing. The home is spotless and clean smelling, they serve excellent food and most of all give top quality care and really get to know their residents. When it’s time for me to go in a home, send me here please.
The staff were absolutely wonderful with my dad who was receiving palliative care for brain cancer. Every time we telephoned or visited we had an update on my dad as a person and not as a patient. He was made to feel like Braeside was his home and the well trained staff did everything possible to make him comfortable. My family and I could not provide the physical care that dad needed in his last weeks and the staff at Braeside not only did this but were supportive of both his and our emotional needs.nThere are multiple reviews on here that are the polar opposite of my experience and I have to say they do not appear to be from people who have legitimately and directly dealt with the home or staff.nThank you to everyone at Braeside who welcomed, cared for and treated my dad with dignity during his short stay.
