Came here for a birthday get away. After booking I emailed with some general enquiries and mentioned we were coming down for my boyfriend’s birthday. So it was a lovely surprise when we entered our room to find a bottle of bubbly for us and a birthday note written out for him! When we arrived we were in awe by the stunning entrance and drive up to the house. Was greeted by a kind valet, who helped unloaded our bags and park our car for us as we checked in. He helped deliver our bags to our room and gave us some wonderful tips on what to do in the area. Our room was wonderful! High ceilings with views of the grounds. Spotted some deer out the window on one of the days! The spa and pool were blissful, loved spending time in there. Room service was a treat and the buffet breakfast was fantastic. Fantastic service through out our stay. Definitely recommend and would go again.

Great place for all the family. Picnic or eat in the restaurant. My son loves the adventure playground and indoor soft play. The house is interesting and not too much to look around. The lake walk and falls are beautiful.

Great family friendly historic country house and gardens, with large adventure playground and scenic lake. Run privately, the site makes the most of it's location and is well organised. Lots of parking at the entrance, most is buggy or wheelchair accessible, although only assistance dogs are allowed on site. Pricing is on the high side, but not if you make a whole day of it.

I went to Boxwood with my kids on a reasonably weather day in the summer hols with young kids. I'd heard the adventure playground was good but wasn't expecting the kids to be solidly entertained for 7 hrs straight. Great place. The vertical extent of the adventure playground is amazing - the height of the slides are the difference and the "Slide of death" where kids initially drop vertically is under cover and hilarious to watch. Unfortunately the grass around the area gets waterlogged so here is a top tip - pack spare clothes and lots of spare socks. Loads of space for picnics, a ball pit, a soft play, huge boat swings, a toddler balance area and a coffee stall on tap with moderate pricing. There is even a stately home, walks and tractor farm but we did none of these in the 7 hrs we spent there. It cost £30 for the three of us (season ticket worth while for 4+ visits in a year). Worth every penny, especially since picnics are an option.

Only visited gardens but they are lovely. Lake, cave walks. And in spring there have a gorgeous rhododendron garden a few miles away.
