I have been wanting to try the Flaming Grill challenge burger for a while... Interior For a branded pub it did impress me a little. It was almost like being in a converted barn. Service The guy behind the bar was super u welcoming, didn't seem at all interested in working there. When I ordered he simply said that's not availible to all my order without any apology or explanation. When I went back to place the order again the other guy think manager at least explained the situation about supply chains. The AA discount didn't work on the other offers in fact it added cost by removing the "2 for" offer. I had to point that out to them otherwise I would have paid it. Overall super disappointed in the team here. Food After half the menu was unavailable, so no challenge burger for me! We settled on fish and chips and hunters chicken. Both were okay, filled a hole etc but the chips were a bit chewy Price 2 meals for like £10. Its a cheap eat! Overall
A nice pub for a fine day drink in the garden and fairly nice inside. The service at lunchtime was a little slow, about 35mins, when the pub was not very busy. The hunters chicken was great, but the fish was really dry, and all the chips and peas were luke warm. The servers were very enthusiastic and friendly, and seemed to enjoy their work.
Enjoyed my time at boundary house as always. Thought pop in with the family this time and have some food. Got served by delightful young chap on the bar. The food was great had a Rump steak which was delicious and on bed of grilled onions. Best steak I've had in a long while for sure! Kids was happy with their meals to. Thanks boundary house will visit again soon.
We have just celebrated a large family get together here. The staff, led by Doreen, were wonderful. The service was impressive and the food was delicious and hot. We will be celebrating family events here again. From 80 down to 3 years of age, we all had a fabulous party. Many thanks.
A nice dog friendly pub with indoor and outdoor seating. We were able to sit inside and away from the bar where it was quiet. Didn't eat but food seems reasonably priced.
Your typical Greene King, quite a lot of TVs showing sport amongst other things. It's an order at the bar job, we all had burgers and they were good, served with chips. Service was prompt and the place was fairly busy for a Thursday lunchtime. There were a number of lunchtime deals, as you might expect.
We held an 80th birthday party here. Terrible value for money. Food was mediocre, poor choice and, amazingly, no gluten free options despite being part of the stated requirements. Those who were gluten free then had to order from the menu and were then presented with poor quality nachos. They ran out of plates and then complained about a mess at the end of the evening there was hardly anything to tidy up. They were rude in response to the concerns about the gluten free error and the service could best be described as surly and uninterested. Avoid. Nothing to recommend.
I visited at 9.30 pm on a Tuesday. The place was untidy with food and other debris littering the floor, and tables and chairs in a rather disorderly state. It took a little while for me to find a satisfactory place to sit. It looked like it had been busy, but staff had not been able to clean up yet. I was there for more than 30 minutes and no cleaning was done during that time. I was told that I was too late for food so I just had a drink. The staff member who served me was pleasant and polite. The room was dominated by two large televisions showing two different football matches, which, I guess, is good if you want to watch football. I would not choose to go back again, personally.
I have been coming here for 34 years, ever since I was a very young child!! It still has the same warm, friendly and cosy atmosphere, despite being very large indoors, and it's large beer garden being on a main road! You're far enough away from the cars for it to feel like it, though! The people in here are generally friendly, and the staff are also friendly, polite and helpful! The atmosphere is a cross between your small local and your large gastro pub! The food is the same! Some really delicious meals had here! Oh also there is ample parking!
Dropped in for sunday lunch without booking, found some tables unreserved so no problem getting seated. Several menu options we would have liked were unavailable. Greene King app was a bit cumbersome and whilst the printed kids menu had a of glass of milk option the app didn't know anything about it. Ordered surf turf and cluck from grill menu, specified medium/well-done but came out medium-rare. Chicken breast was a bit under done too but chips were overcooked. Good service though.
