We went for lunch the other day I had ham hock and my friend had fish and chips. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was lovely being on the Thames, with the beautiful views while having lunch. We then we for a nice walk after lunch around the park. Well worth going there for a meal Parking: It's best to park in the council carpark just up the road as there is no parking outside Although there is 3 places and 2 are disabled if you are lucky to get one
Visited for lunch on a Monday, plenty of seats available when we arrived but seated next to a wall with no view! We asked to move as there were plenty of seats and we wanted a nice view of the water. I had fish and chips - large portion, not much tartar sauce give. Dessert was a steamed sponge cake with custard - very sweet, went nice with a coffee. The view is great, it would have been better to visit on a sunny warm day as they also have outdoor seating. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I parked infront of the restaurant on a yellow line as a few other cars had done the same, but there is a car park a short walk done the road.
Absolutely lovely experience. Fabulous food and scrumptious cocktails. Dessert was the best. The boathouse at raymill Island was wonderful. The staff were very attentive. We went to celebrate our 17 year wedding anniversary and each staff member came to wish us a happy anniversary and even decorated our dessert plate with Happy anniversary. The hostess was absolutely wonderful in greeting us and also when we were leaving. Made us feel very welcome. I Would definitely recommend the boathouse. I will definitely go again. Our server Amrita was brilliant, she made our evening so special. Nice and friendly and chatty. Compliments to the chef's.
A fabulous location with very good food and service. But the 5 stars goes to the Australian Waitress who served us, as did all of my tip. The guy at front of house couldn't really care that we had requested a river view window seat and just wanted to get us seated at any table. We initially got one by the steps inside, not very nice, however our lovely waitress moved us to the window with beautiful river views. Photos are from our Table.
Beautiful setting for a restaurant on the leafy banks of the Thames. We had a table on the first floor terrace overlooking the river, where we watched the geese and ducks, and almost shook hands with a red kite that hovered at eye level next to the balcony. Friendly staff and super food. I had the aged beef and ale pie and my wife had the beefburger. Both were excellent - the burger was fat and meaty and the beef in my pie was tender and succulent, and plenty of it. The people who follow my reviews will know how much I appreciated the ketchup arriving in a bottle, not a sachet!
We were driving through this area and saw the Boathouse. On the spur of the moment, and without a booking, we went in and got a table by the window with great views to the river. The menu had some good options, and the specials of the day added to the choice. We ended up with two different fish dishes, and they were delicious. Service was friendly and the prices were what you would expect in a gastro pub. A pleasant evening. If there is anything they could improve of, it might be a wider choice of local draft beer. There is no parking available next to the pub, but there is a car park less than 300 yards up the A4094.
This is a cool romantic environment with a park attached to it.. the views around is the perk of it!! It’s a very quiet area and I’ll recommend to lovers, couple that needs a refreshing moment, starring into each other eyes and rewriting the love story over again … I must say the chef is very good and the meal was heavenly
Wow this has massively improved under these new owners. It has always been a great location however the decoration and lay out is fitting for the location. This really is a great location for drinks or food.
Gorgeous location. Such friendly staff! Had a delicious mocktail recommended by one of the staff, was delicious. Great food, good vibes. We'll definitely visit again.
A riverside restaurant with fantabulous view of River Thames’s canal. The inside interior is also warm and modest, which really give customer a relaxing feel. They provide great variety of food choices, with also plenty of small dishes for sharing basis. My pork belly was really nice with glazed. The only disappointing thing is there is no parking space on the island. You have to park outside with up to 5 mins walk.
