We went in looking for sunglasses. My wife found a pair in the sale for £10. The assistant, Helen, was incredibly helpful. She adjusted the glasses, cleaned them and provided a case and cloth. She was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, an excellent experience.
There was a problem with my eye-test appointment at the Newcastle, Eldon Square store and I hadn't been booked in due to system error but the staff in your store were outstanding and managed to fit me in for one at the same time even though they were extremely busy. All staff were amazing but I'd like to mention by name the 4 that I dealt with, who in my opinion provided exemplary customer service whilst under pressure. The 2 counter staff in particular who sorted the problem calmly and professionally were Mark and Julie. The optometrist who saw me was professional, efficient, friendly and comprehensive and was called Priya. Lastly. Helen out front helped me choose my glasses and was friendly, professional and had excellent customer service skills. Please thank them all again for making my experience so good. I get nervous at medical appointments and all four helped me relax and know that I was in professional hands. Thanks again Boots.
The colleagues that supported me were absolutely fantastic. The optician I saw was the kindest, bubbliest person ever and explained everything in detail in a way that I’d understand. Jacqi the assistant was amazing at helping me with recommendations when choosing frames but also when explaining my different options. My optician was so sweet and even came over to ask which frames I’d chosen and asked me to try them on for her and was absolutely lovely. I couldn’t have had a better experience.
As always, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, professional, relaxing - a safe place. Lovely staff. It was good to see how the new apprentice Aaron? was having his knowledge and abilities suported by all members of staff - real teamwork. I am very happy with my new glasses. It's a pleasure to visit and I've been singing the praises of Boots Opticians Eldon Square for years - thank you very much xx
The actual appointment was well carried out and clearly explained. The follow up was also very well conducted. Both professionals were friendly and helpful. I had missed the call to explain about the photographing of the back of the eye but the lady who first dealt with us explained it well. However I was expecting to be asked if I wished to go ahead, by the optician, and wasn’t. So had I not understood or known I could have ended up with a £15 charge for something I either didn’t want or couldn’t really afford. The only slight mis step. I know this is not an issue with you as opticians but I am concerned that something concerning prevention; which is always cheaper in the long run is not free. This unjustly impacts those who can least afford it. I’m telling you because if enough people raise this issue then those taking decisions may use different parameters to make their decisions. I was having an issue with my contact lenses and the optician was excellent with the solutions she is looking at. She also found an issue with one of my eyes. She sought a second opinion and referred me to the local eye hospital. I felt really well looked after
Staff very helpful. The optician was great and explained everything. She had the best laugh.! The lady who helped me pic my new glasses was very friendly too.
I walked into the Boots optician where I purchased my glasses on Saturday after they had become suddenly damaged and were not usable. Within half an hour I was walking out of the store with identical replacement frames thanks to the optical advisor Helen. I was delighted as I would have been lost without them for work on Monday.
I booked on-line and turned up unexpectedly according to the computer, showed my confirmation and went straight in to see the Optician who did the pre tests and the appointment. No delays at all so very happy with the service.
I was quite impressed by the varying amount of checks on my eyes. All so different from my last test. The optician knew what he was doing which gave me confidence that I would see an improvement in my prescription.
