Cafe nearly empty a 45 minute wait for a sandwich, not good enough. The place is well staffed, with a large team working today. The whole menu is simple and would be easy to prepare, it’s clearly designed to be turned around quickly. As you’ll see from the other reviews this is normal and acceptable level of service for whomever manages the cafe.nnSort it out Booths! It’s not the standards of the rest of the store and it must be costing you a lot of business.
This is a very smart supermarket lots of choice on the shelves, a little more expensive than I'm used to, but once in a while it's ok. A good variety of products too, the most expensive tea towels I've ever seen, £12. We were camping and forgot them. The air conditioning was on full I think, it was blissfully cool against the inferno that was outside.
I write about the Booths cafe in Ulverston. Other reviews here say how slow the service is. Yesterday 09/06/26 I called in for lunch, following a long motorcycle ride, and requested a soup followed by a basic meal, and a coffee, spending around £18. I had to point out that I had waited at least 45 minutes for my food, which then came after another 10 mins! The coffee was brought over earlier. It was reasonably busy but I wouldn’t say packed out. Most of the tables are designed for minimum of 4 people, but most had just two people, so it wasn’t full.nThe food is reasonable and the staff are basically fine although no apologies for the slowness is noted. Management really need to sort this out as it is ridiculous, in what is actually a nice supermarket.
Popped into Booths for “just a couple of sandwiches” while travelling and left wondering if I should start doing all my shopping here wallet says no, heart says yes . The sandwich selection was very good. Fresh, tasty, and clearly made with a bit of love. It’s definitely on the pricier side think Waitrose or M&S but if the rest of their food is anything like those sandwiches, it’s probably worth every penny.nnUpscale supermarket vibes with a friendly feel. And, like most supermarkets these days, their loyalty card will take a little off the prices.
Nice and clean store with good fresh options. Lots of parking. Staff very friendly and approachable. Only issue is there were multiple items with no or limited stock. This was 16:30 on a Tuesdat afternoon.
