Very disappointing visit to cafe today. Gluten free info advises products maybe contaminated hence we bought Booths gluten free products from the store to have alongside our coffee. Member of staff advised no food to be eaten in the cafe if not bought from cafe - contradicting gluten free advice???
I've been in here a few times, and honestly feel so unwelcome. You get stared at by all the older female staff as if you don't belong there or 'you are not good enough' to be there. Absolutely miserable checkout staff, I felt so judged and discriminated against, and everything is so insanely overpriced as well, especially when the quality of stuff really isn't better than anywhere else. It's such a weird atmosphere.
Pam I think she's a team leader or manager is absolutely excellent. She looked into an issue I had, contacted her IT team and then said she would get in touch with her head office and get back to me. She phoned me back less than 2 hours later. That really is putting the customer first. She deserves a wage rise.
Lovely supermarket with a cafe and toilet facilities too. Check out their range of Lake District souvenirs, simply gorgeous and reasonably priced! I especially loved the 100% cotton shopping bags sold only for £5 each, they're large and sturdy
The shelves in this supermarket are full of probably the widest range of products of all the big supermarkets. Spoilt for choice. All well set out and helpful staff.nNote to self:- they don't stock peas pudding.
