Boote Home For Cats

About

Cat rescue/re-homing centre.

Story

Loving homes are always required for adult neutered cats of all ages, and sometimes kittens. If you feel you are unable to commit yourself permanently to giving a cat a home, you could consider fostering. To adopt a cat, ring the rehoming line (Phoenix Cat Trust) on 0151 734 5830 and leave a message.

Adoption fees: from 1st August 2017, the following will apply:
kittens not neutered or inoculated: £50
cats/kittens EITHER inoculated or neutered, but not both: £60
cats/kittens inoculated AND neutered: £70

We have had to change the adoption fees because we no longer receive financial help from Cats Protection with the cost of neutering. Currently, it costs us over £80 (female) and £70 (male) to have cats/kittens inoculated and neutered. All cats are microchipped, treated for worms and fleas, and receive vet treatment when necessary.

There is also a sponsorship scheme in place for long-term resident elderly and ill cats that are hard to find homes for.

Me and my partner adopted Sylvia from here formerly known as Miss Beth and the staff I spoke to were so helpful and clearly care a lot about cats as they make sure you can look after them properly and can give them a good home. They kept in contact early on as well to male sure she was getting on well, which shows they genuinely care about their cats. Will be forever grateful!
We adopted our lovely cat Paris in April 2005. She had been found in a box in a shop doorway. She has lived happily since with another rescue cat Pickle until Nov last year when she sadly passed aged 18yrs. Paris is now 19yrs old and although some health issues. She is still living her best life.
Boote is the oldest cat rescue in Liverpool. It's a lovely old house filled with cats, some of which roam the place like pets and some of which skirt the grounds when hungry and in need of shelter. At Boote, the cats come first. If you are not the perfect owner who will guarantee that cat a home of love and care for the remainder of its life then you are not the right adopter. The cats have had tough enough lives when they come into Boote. For Boote, it's not about making their lives a bit better, it's about making their lives better forever with the perfect place that's right for each individual cat. This may mean you're not quite right for the cat. Don't take offence, some of the cats have behavioural issues or long term health issues. It is not a reflection on you and your family. It's about the cat. At Boote, the cats come first.
This is Jessie, when I was with my ex we fell in love with her and got her immediately. She became the most loving and appreciative animal I've ever met. This was her in the original photo and the rest are some of her in her new home. I adored her and I'm glad she's with my ex partner because she's got a home for life and full of love. I urge people to not to look for the 'cutest' cat. Remember these animals just want love and safety, like us
We've recently adopted a beautiful cat from here who's settling in to our home nicely
My boyfriend and I adopted 2 kittens from Boote cats last Christmas, Ann and Lorna were very helpful and gave us lots of information. We love our two new family members Suki and Kadi
Ran by a lovely lady and all her volunteers. Cats are very well looked after. If you want to adopt a cat this is a place to get intouch with.
Got my lovely cat Lottie from here in 2018. The staff care a lot and helped me find a suitable cat for the space that I had available. They followed up multiple times on the phone to see how Lottie was doing.
This is such a lovely place. Despite having minimal funding, the ladies here really care about the cats and the homes that they go to. I would highly recommend getting a cat from here as this place really needs all the support it can get. I chose my two yesterday! So glad I came to Boote Home
Just adopted a sweet cat from Boote Home for cats. Thanks so much to Ann and all the volunteers who do s fantastic job of rehoming unwanted and mistreated cats. The cats I saw at the home were all clean, nuetured and microchipped waiting for their forever homes. I would highly recommend this service that's run by cat lovers and not for profit.
